Saying Hello and introducing ourselves, by saying name, is the thing we normally do when we make a call. Be it the person we know since we were born or someone we don’t know. That is a manner, also for the receipients to know who is calling them. But today I received a phone call from a man who didn’t introducing himself to me and directly asking me this and that, even told me what I am supposed to do. Wtf?
He asked where I work and in what company. I told him the company name, location, that it is a plastic packaging and printing company. Next thing he said was,”Oh, that doesn’t suit you. By seeing your education background, you should be working in erm.. printing company, doing design for mooncake packaging, brochure, jeans label, bla bla bla. That works more for your creativity. Your company is printing the plastic themselves right? With bla bla bla kind of cylinder. I know one.It doesn’t suits you la.”
I can’t hold it no more although I knew he should be someone who just received my resume, but hey I need to know who am I talking to. I asked about his identity. His answer was that he just received my resume, was someone from a printing company in Petisah area doing yada yada yada. Then asked how much do I need to make a living and give a reasonable price of course. Wtf? He ended the conversation by asking me to contact him back on weekend for further appointment.
Nah, if he thought he could enroll people to be his future staff in that way, he is totally FAIL!!! First, no manner, by calling people and asking so many questions without introducing himself. Hey, how could I tell more about myself to a complete stranger?
Second, it’s not only employee who need to know about the employer but also the other way round. If I didn’t cut his words and asked his identity, he wouldn’t stop and tell me his. He didn’t even wanna say his company name. It’s a two way relationship wei.
Third, how dare he tried to think for me. That my current work doesn’t suit me and work at printing company like his is better.
