Red in Chinese New Year
Chinese is identical with red and so is Chinese New Year. Look at the Chinese New Year decoration in malls, red is the dominant color. Look at the Nien Gao packaging, the New Year accessories, even clothes also red, red and red.
When I was a kid, I never failed to wear red clothes on the 1st day of Chinese New Year. Maybe there was a few times I didn’t. Well, elder people said wear red red, so I guai guai listen lo. Until I stepped into my teenage year, I didn’t give a damn to the color of New Year clothes anymore. Some more I dislike red, too bright, too daring, can easily reckon it from far.
But this year, I am so in the mood of Chinese New Year (and the trip :P). I make an attempt to ‘make’ myself red which is; buy a red clothes and color my fingernails and toe with red nail polish. Hah! I finally paint all my nails and with red color! It’s incredible since I never bother to color my fingernails. Now my hands so itchy, want to look for something else and turn it into red color.
Oh.. I can’t stop writing about Chinese New Year.
