Election fever is cooling down
The result of Malaysia 12th General election was out yesterday, full of surprised. BN (Barisan Nasional) didn’t manage to retain the 2/3 majority. It lost 5 states ( Penang, Selangor, Kedah, Kelantan, and Perak ) to the opposition (DAP, PAS, PKR, etc). Apart of that, blogger Jeff Ooi made his way to the parliament. Whew~! People power made it happened. People is sick of the same situation and want a change. Well, I see it’s like what happened in Indonesia few years back. After 30+ years of winning every election and ruling the country, Golkar has lost to PDI-Perjuangan. Because people wants changes.
What interesting is, I found myself followed the election’s results through TV and internet on the night after the election. I was anxious of the election result of a country that isn’t mine. I didn’t even bother about the result of the President’s election in Indonesia 4 years back. Well, partly because now I realize how important of the election’s result is to a country and the citizen.
As a foreigner in Malaysia, I wish this country will change to a better one. It’s time for the corruptors to exercise on treadmills because they have ‘eat’ too much too full and forget to wipe their mouth after ‘eat’.
