I often heard and read that milk helps sleep. Therefore it is good to consume a glass of milk before sleep. It becomes a mindset that drink milk = have a good sleep. All because milk contains melatonin, a hormone that helps us to relax, although the percentage of the melatonin is not much.
Since last few weeks I have started to drink milk before the bed time. It was cream milk in box – Dutch lady and now it is chocolate Ultramilk. I didn’t start this habit hoping that I will have a good sleep after drink milk. It’s because of my mum.
Anyway, after weeks of drinking milk before bedtime, I don’t feel any improvement in getting a good sleep. I am sleepy but my head is full with thoughts and worry. I cannot relax at all. Every night there is always something for me to think and worry about. No, not about exterior shutters.
Perhaps I shall try sleeping with lotsa money in the pillow to solve my sleeping problem.
Before that, I will need to rob the bank first. -__-”
The good thing of living in Medan is, there is no toll in town and we don’t need to spend hours to go to one places. It is so much smaller than Jakarta that we are able to go to 3 malls within hours. Going to 3 malls in a day wasn’t my intention, it happened cause of some misunderstanding.
First, is Brastagi Supermarket (further than Carrefour). Mum said there is discount for all products in the supermarket if we pay using the Citibank credit card. She saw the ads on the newspaper.
Later on we found out the hidden t&c from the information center. We need to shop at least IDR.500.000 then only we are eligible for the lucky dip. The prize goes from the lowest one which is Oreo to 20% discount and so on. The highest prize is, free shopping, which means no need to pay at all. -__-”
After the grocery shopping, we went to Plaza Medan Fair. Mum thought I was referring to City ice cream cafe at Medan Fair. It supposed to be Medan Plaza, the lau ya oldest mall in town. What a misunderstanding. We ended up buying some books from the Kharisma bookstore.
After that, we finally went to Medan Plaza. It’s been don’t know how many years already. The 4 of us looked like aliens stranded in that place, cos I barely saw any Chinese patrons there. -__-”
Anyway, the mission to Medan Plaza was to take picture of my work (wallpaper) at the newly open City – ice cream cafe at the 4th floor. Yes, just for one wallpaper!
We also had a dinner there cos phaise if I went in just for the sake of taking pictures.
It’s amazing to see the artwork comes alive in such a big size. I mean, it’s no longer trapped inside this 19″ lcd where only me, myself and I can see it. And it will stay there for as long as possible until the owner decides to have a make over session.
Self satisfaction. A feeling that money can’t buy.
I had Khek Lang mie (at Asia Mega Mas complex) for my breakfast this morning.
Since there was black out from 8.30am until 3pm (6 hours plus), we cannot cook rice. As an alternative, mum cooked bihun soup for lunch.
Dinner time, mum cooks char kuey teow.
I had mie, bihun, and kuey teow in the same day but no rice. Feel like something is missing. :S
This year, our relationship is hitting the number 4. Yeap, we are together for about 4 years already, although both of us don’t know when is the exact date of anniversary.
Though this boyfriend of mine has a pai kia face, but he is a teddy bear inside. The sweetest, most-understand-me, kindest man on this earth. Er, after my dad.
Here is the 10 things I like about the boyfriend in a random order:
1. He cooks for me, from the first time we met until now. I am good in doing other house chores but damn lousy when it comes to cooking. I still remember my kitchen disaster that happened last month.
2. He is not egoist, always thinks about other people first then only himself. Too good to be true and yet some people take it for granted.
3. He is willing to carry me on his back when I couldn’t walk. From the house, go downstairs, walk through the slope road to the nearest clinic which is not very near when I couldn’t walk. And not for one time.
4. He is a very responsible man. Instead of running away and blame others, he faces the problem and the consequences. No matter how big the problem is.
5. He always be there for me, through ups and downs, when my heels are over my head, when the world is falling apart on me.
6. He always thinks positive with lotsa possibilities. Sometimes I envy him for having this positive thinking, because I am his opposite. Typical melancholy, with negative thinking, always looks for the bad side of one thing. Well, he is the ‘Michael Scofield’ who will tell me to have a little faith. That there is a hope and possibility.
7. He is smart, knows a lot of things, thinks logically. So what if he didn’t score good during the high school time and he wasn’t good in memorizing the text book. He has the mixture of einstein and da vinci brain.
8. He is willing to help me wear the high heels with complicated straps. Sometimes I am standing and find trouble in wearing it, he will knee down and help me, whether it is at home or shoes store. So sweet.
9. He doesn’t roll his eyes on other woman quietly. Instead, he take upon to tell me, not only about the ugly one but also the pretty woman.
10. He sings song for me with the customize lyrics, depending on my mood and situation.
This cousin of mine grows taller than what I can imagine. She is 8 years old this year and sits in 3rd grade of primary school. When she stood in front of me, the top of her head has reached my lips.
The flip flops (size 34 or 35) that my mum bought for her from KL cannot accommodate her feet. Couldn’t believe that, I compared my feet and hers. Just a little bit and she will be the same size with me, size 36 / 4 or 5.
We compared our hands and palms too. Again, just a little difference.
She was so exciting about that and said,”Jie, when I am in 4th grade, I will be as tall as you lo, right?” Yes, my dear, your jie jie cannot grow taller already.
I was 152 cm in junior highschool (the 1st year) and only grow 3 cm since then. -___-” I should have done what she always do, which is jumping and rope skipping with friends. Too bad I am not an active person.
Whatever, it’s not too bad for being short and small size. Most of the people thought that I am a secondary student. Forever young.
