I’m so late in getting the news. It is on telkomspeedy[dot]com since 8April. I log in to the site everyday to check the usage of my internet connection and yet I don’t realize the news. Duh!

When the boyfriend text-ed me that Youtube & Myspace kena banned already in Indonesia, my immediate reaction was WTF and KNS! The local newspaper didn’t say anything about the news. He told me to relax since we still have metacafe.

So, I online and checked through kaskus. And the fact is, there is 7 sites kena banned by the local broadband ‘Speedy’ (under Telkom)! Youtube, MySpace, Metacafe, Rapidshare, Multiply, Liveleak dan Themoviefitna[dot]com. There is 5 major and important sites kena banned, consider I never heard about Liveleak and themoviefitna.

See the bigger picture, the banned action of the 7 sites actually doesn’t affect my online activity because I rarely deal with those. With the limited, slow and expensive internet connection, I already have a hard time managing my blog not to say watch video online, download files from rapidshare or upload pictures to multiply.

But heck, I still angry of the stupid act. Indonesia is the so called democracy country. But, just because of one stupid video, they blocked everything. Malaysia, a country with Muslim as the majority like Indonesia, doesn’t even take such an action.

Youtube not only has Fitna video, but so much more that is useful for us. Multiply, it is a social network, some people sell stuffs from there, search recipes, songs, pictures. Why don’t the Bosses up there think about the consequences, the bigger picture of the act, the people in the country?

We have the brain to think and filter the good and the bad. We know what is a crappy video and we won’t spend the precious time debating on it or let it brainwash us. If we have time, we rather work hard to earn more money since living cost is getting higher. If no one want to take the video away from Youtube or other sites, then let’s walk away and close our eyes and ears from seeing and hearing anything about it.

Why bother spend so much time debating over a crappy video when there is so many issues in the country (which is more important) need to be settled? Why why why?

I don’t know I have to feel angry and blame it to the Dutch,Geert Wilders- the creator of Fitna video or the government.

I shall stop here or else blogger will be banned too!
