More on sites banning
Don’t listen from one side only, it will result in an unfair judgement. That’s what I think when I searched through the threads in kaskus and found out more about the banned action.
The President of Indonesia, SBY, himself asked the Minister of Communication and Information, M.Nuh, to block any access to Fitna video. No particular sites was said to be banned.
The minister himself has written to Youtube to delete Fitna video from their server. Besides that, he also wrote to APJII (Asosiasi Penyelenggara Jasa Internet Indonesia) and ISP in Indonesia to filter the sites and blogs that contain Fitna video.
As a results of that, Speedy has blocked 7 sites including Youtube. That’s because they don’t know how to block a particular link/strong> and not the site as a whole. What an excuse. -__-”
Indonesia is such a big country, so many of the citizens study overseas, I can’t believe there is NO ONE who knows how to block a particular link instead of the whole site. Come on, where is the genius man? We are in deep shit now.
Another thing,the Minister already had a discussion with the ICT society including top bloggers in the country. It was reported that more than 70 people was there. Read more from kaskus.
Anyway, the online world in Indonesia seems to be very happening nowadays. From the launching of UU ITE (the law of online transaction and information) to the debate to block porn sites both local and international, from Roy Suryo (the IT expert, in differentiate the original picture and the fake one) who said bloggers is the same as hackers and he has no respect to bloggers to the banned of 7 sites because of Fitna video.
I think the government is having too much ‘fun’ in the online world, they forget about the problems we have in the reality.
YouTube “jualan” di Indonesia.. Janganlah jualan materi yg isinya jelas-jelas menyinggung mayoritas pemeluk agama di Indonesia.. Dan depkominfo sudah melakukan apa yg sebaiknya di lakukan. Bahkan belakangan udah minta maaf sgala..
