Last two days I was still able to access the control panel in blogspot / blogger[dot]com and the blogs with dot blogspot dot com.
Today I tried to go to the friends’ blogs and I get this connection has time out message. But, I can go to the control panel page. What does this mean? Blogspot was blocked too?
I googling and found a few entries and complains regarding this issue. Some people can access it, then cannot, and so on. Some people like me, can’t access it at all and have to use a few tricky way; use google translate tool or http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www.cgi/http://site-name.com.
Since control panel can be accessed, that means we can write and post. But no blog hopping, read other blogs and comment. So, what does this mean? It’s like the government want to block it but at the other side, still want to give us some freedom.
I really don’t understand with all this blocking thing. What the tuut is going on with the Bosses up there? After the blocking of 7 sites (Youtube, metacafe, rapidshare, multiply, etc) and opened those again, here came the blocking of Astro (still going on until now, perhaps Astro didn’t give enough money to shut the gov mouth), and now blogspot is somewhat blocked.
I don’t think it’s because of the Fitna movie only, but a mixture between the porn issue, the Roy Suryo statement about blogger and hacker, and something more fishy behind all this. Next year is the important year for the Bosses up there. The election to choose the President was scheduled to be held in April. But seeing what they do now to the internet world and the bloggers, SBY (the current President) seems to be losing the sympathy of the youngster. Perhaps BN story in last election in Malaysia will repeat in Indonesia next year, though in a different context?
Let’s wait and see. Hopefully wordpress isn’t their next victim after blogspot. I’ll need individual health insurance to stay strong. Whatever.
