Accidentally deleted important files & recovery

April 16th, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

I was transferring my files from the old Acer laptop to the new Dell computer, using a 1GB pen drive. I have about 8 - 9 GB files. -__-” No choice, I have no external hard disk. So the work flow went like this : copy from laptop to pen drive, copy from pendrive to PC, delete the files in the pen drive and the laptop, then goes back to the first step.

Then, I wanted to extract one of the vector packs in my PC. Somehow I think I hit the Shift and Delete button, while still selecting the whole freshly-transfered-files. So in a blink of eyes, Simsalabim, the files were gone with the wind. Left me with the mouth open and jaw drop (still shocked), enough to put a golf bags in . The files is no longer in the pen drive or the laptop.

Thanks G I remember there is this thing call files recovery, which is why Edison Chen scandalous pictures were all over the internet although the computer were broken down. :P After a few search of files recovery software through Google, downloaded and installed, I finally found the rescuer, which is UNDELETE PLUS, a free software with total size of 600KB.

It covers quite a lot of files including adobe illustrator and photoshop which other recovery softwares don’t have (and need to pay some more -__-”). Just hit the ’start scan’ button and it will list out the deleted files immediately. So fast so furious. Choose the files to be recovered and hit ’start undelete’ button.

Simsalabim abrakadabra!

The deleted files are back! Yay!
