The election of North Sumatra Governor (Pilgubsu – Pemilihan Gubernur Sumatra Utara) was held on yesterday. So far, KPU (Komisi Pemilihan Umum) hasn’t announce the actual result yet.

But the quick count has pretty much show who is the winner that will lead North Sumatra for the next 5 years. Duo Syampurno (Syamsul Arifin-Gatot Pudjonugroho) is leading with 27,67%, follow by Tri-Ben (Tritamtomo-Benny Pasaribu) 22,35%, WARAS (Abdul Wahab Dalimunthe-Raden Muhammad Syafii) , PASS (RE Siahaan-Suheri ) and UMMA (Ali Umri-Maratua Simanjuntak).

My brother said that Syamsul Arifin face looks like a genie, except he is out of the bottle. While my mum over heard a worker in a Nasi Padang restaurant said in a sarcastic tone,”Tukang jual kue aja bisa jadi Gubernur. Bentar lagi giliran tukang jual ayam.” (Translate: Even a cookie seller can become governor. Later on it’s the chicken seller turn.)

Well, hate him or like him, he is soon to be our Governor and lead this state. Unless the real result from KPU is different from the quick count, which is like 1 in a million chance.
