Download Diner Dash: Link updated

May 31st, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

I’ve posted about Diner Dash Hometown Hero crack on January 2007. Yesterday I just found out that the link to Katambung Games is no longer available (read: not found).

DinerDash4hometownHero

It is not the end of the world yet. I’ve uploaded Diner Dash 4 crack on EasyShare. It is 33MB, winrar file. The good thing from EasyShare is, there is no need to wait for 25 minutes to do another download like Rapidshare.

Anyway, I’ve finished Wedding Dash since last few weeks. I thought it is the end of Wedding Dash already, but no. Quinn returns with a new hectic adventure, joined by Flo and Joe Wright (wedding photographer) in Wedding Dash 2 : Rings Around the World. Not only that, Sally’s Salon has come back with Sally’s Spa~!

I’ve downloaded both. Reviews and download link is coming soon. ;)

Mood board for your ‘about page’

May 29th, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

Most of the time when I visit someone’s blog for the first time, I will check the about page. Then only I will continue to dig the related post or the recommended post. Simply because I want to know the person behind the blog.

It is quite often I found the abandoned about page. It is either fill with ‘coming soon‘ or the generated text from wordpress. Some of the reason: no time, don’t know how to describe about myself, etc. Whoa, got time to write about medicare advantage post but no time and no idea to write about own self. Might as well close down the blog or no need put the about page.

graphicprofile copy

Anyway, I came across an inspiring graphic profile from wpthemedesigner.com. Besides writing about herself in the about page, the owner also made a graphic profile (montage) that consists of pictures related to herself and numbering it. Under the graphic profile, there is a short notes/description to the pictures based on the numbers. From there we can know more about her, i.e. her favorite food, games, TV shows, movie, nationality, etc.

It reminds me about mood board in advertising. It is used to portray the target audience, the feeling that we wanna get from the product’s ads, etc. It is similar to graphic profile from wpthemedesigner. I never thought of implementing it in the about page.

Well, if you don’t know how to write about yourself or how to start it, this graphic profile or mood board can be the alternative. ;)

Time for a weekend break

May 29th, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

I’ve been spending most of my time at home, in front of my computer to be specific. Less going out on the weekend too if not with my family. Gosh, I’ve turn into a geek homey girl~!

It just seems to be no interesting places to go in Medan unless for the food. The only great place to hang out and window shopping is Sun Plaza. Oh so boring, man. How I miss a walk to Petaling Street and Pasar Seni with the boyfriend. I don’t mind the 1 hour plus journey with Metro bus.

I don’t need a break to hotels in las vegas. A weekend break to Brastagi Highland is good enough. While I was thinking of going there, my friend said that she planned to go there too. Law of attraction. :P

I’m looking forward to this weekend.

Sneak peak of my wordpress theme

May 28th, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

Still remember my words about designing a new wordpress theme for this blog? Oh well, it’s been a week since then. It is still in progress though. I have finished the content layout but I am having a hard time with the header design and the title’s font. It is as hard as choosing HDMI cables. Still making my mind to go for which way.

part-of-wordpress-theme

The overall look is very pinkie and organized. I want to have the look of chic lit’s cover too. This wordpress theme is gonna be Oh-so-me, from the color to the design, from the layout arrangement to the blog’s title. I have set a deadline for myself. I’ll finish the design by this weekend. After that, it is the boyfriend’s part to coding it.

I’m so excited cause this is my first ‘made-by-me’ blog theme. If everything goes smooth, both of us will have another area to venture on. ;)

A long way to go

May 28th, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

It is so scary to see how fast the time pass. It is end of May already and soon half of the year 2008 has gone. Let’s take some time to step back and see what we have done for the past one month, whether we are on the right track or not.

Let’s start with mine:
- I managed to maintain at least an entry per day or 2 days at Medan Daily and Dua Blogger. Dua Blogger has been around for a few months but May is the month with the most entries. Medan Daily is about one month only, there is 2 more probation months before I start to monetize it. It might finish the probation month in a shorter time though. Let’s see how it goes.

- Medan Daily finally has it’s Alexa rank at 30,031,550.

- Traffic for this blog has increased from last month. The other 2 blogs have organic traffic already. Yippie!

- Calculating all the income from here and there (paid and unpaid), it has hit my minimum target, which is the same amount of my previous salary. I still have some money for saving after pay the monthly cheap life insurance.

Next is to finish my wordpress theme, create a few niche blogs, and maintain the current blogs. ;)

The end of Bob hairstyle

May 27th, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

I have my bob hair for a good 15 months already. It’s been 4 months since the last hair cut, which was on last February, few days before Chinese New Year. It looked kinda messy and out of the shape now. I decided to have a hair cut today. Then the dilemma came. Should I cut a short bob again or other style to grow it long?

Let’s see why I like bob hair. It is easy to blow dry and style. I won’t feel so hot with such a short hair in such a hot weather. My hair doesn’t fall off that much compare to the time when I had a long hair. People says I looks younger, forever seventeen. :P But, I was quite bore of the look. Besides that, it is the market demand - wanting me to have long hair. :P Macam betul aja.

Pfiuh. It was a tough decision. However, I have decided to leave the era of bob hair and welcoming the era of medium or even long hair. I know, it’s gonna be a hard time while growing from a short hair to a shoulder length hair. Never mind, let it be hard at the beginning but sweet at the end. :P

Kie-Kie-saloon-location

So, I reserved a place at Kie Kie saloon for this afternoon. Yes, it is not first come first serve, reservation is needed for hair cut service. I am glad that I am freelancing now, I can go there anytime I want, even on the weekday. Else, I will need to wait until weekend, which is extremely crowded. It is closed on Sunday though.

Kie-Kie-saloon-medan

I’ve went there to had my hair cut since senior high school. It is a good 6 years. In between that, I had tried other saloons that is cheaper than Kie Kie, both in Medan and KL, but none suits me. In this case, price determines the quality. Really. Cheapo saloons that charge half price or quarter price from KieKie (IDR.60.000-100.000) had a lower quality too, from the way they wash my hair to blow hair to cut hair. Oh my..

The last shot of my sweet bob hair.

Besides that, the hair cut from Kie Kie can last long. Even after a few months, the hair style / look is still there. Bottom line is, I can wear a no branded clothes but I cannot risk having my hair cut at a not well known / new saloon. I am extremely sensitive when it comes to hair.

cutting-hair

The price for wash + cut + blow is at IDR.220.000. Most of the customers will give the staffs some tips, at least IDR.5.000. I think I was the stingy and only customer who gave a big egg (read: zero) to them. :P Well, the staff did massaged my hand and even introduced Kerastase tonic at IDR.250.000, cause I have a hair loss problem.

But it turn into a minus point because she kept on persuaded me to buy. Oi, lau niang only brought enough money for the hair cut and transport, no credit card or debit card to use also, how to buy? Other than that, she did the most common mistake in washing hair. The water from the shower kept on ‘jumping’ to my face. I wanna wash hair not face~! -___-”

Alright, save your curiosity of my new hair style for the next entry. :P

Her twenty two birthday

May 26th, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

Someone has hit the number twenty two~! Er, actually it is her 21st birthday but we counted it based on the Chinese calendar, hence we buy the ‘double 2′ candle.

Make-a-wish

It was a ‘cold’ night due to an unexpected-yet-expected attendance of somebody. But heck, we couldn’t destroy the birthday-girl’s night, so we pretend as if nothing had happened and put a smile in front of that somebody. :P

Before buying air purifier

May 26th, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

There are so many Fresh Air Purifier brand in the market. Let’s see what you should check before buying any:

- Don’t pick anything that can generate ozone because ozone can change lung tissue also trigger asthma attacks.

- Don’t even look at ionizers that don’t remove much of anything but generate ozone. They only make things worse.

- Choose the product with HEPA filters or even better. HEPA is a government standard that are able to remove at least 99.97% of the particles that are greater than 0.3 microns.

- Carbon is the chemical that removes odors and chemicals. Therefore, make sure to choose the product that has carbon. The more the better.

- Choose the product that suits your need. If you have problems with smoke, make sure that the product was designed for it. It is quite difficult to deal with tobacco smoke since the tars in it can coat the carbon. Resulting in the in-effectiveness of the carbon.
