Most of the time when I visit someone’s blog for the first time, I will check the about page. Then only I will continue to dig the related post or the recommended post. Simply because I want to know the person behind the blog.
It is quite often I found the abandoned about page. It is either fill with ‘coming soon‘ or the generated text from wordpress. Some of the reason: no time, don’t know how to describe about myself, etc. Whoa, got time to write about medicare advantage post but no time and no idea to write about own self. Might as well close down the blog or no need put the about page.
Anyway, I came across an inspiring graphic profile from wpthemedesigner.com. Besides writing about herself in the about page, the owner also made a graphic profile (montage) that consists of pictures related to herself and numbering it. Under the graphic profile, there is a short notes/description to the pictures based on the numbers. From there we can know more about her, i.e. her favorite food, games, TV shows, movie, nationality, etc.
It reminds me about mood board in advertising. It is used to portray the target audience, the feeling that we wanna get from the product’s ads, etc. It is similar to graphic profile from wpthemedesigner. I never thought of implementing it in the about page.
Well, if you don’t know how to write about yourself or how to start it, this graphic profile or mood board can be the alternative. ![]()

I’m glad you liked the idea. writing an “about you” page just isn’t simple for me so i thought, i had to find an easy way to do it.. and since i am a designer.. i have the perfect excuse for creating a graphic profile instead. Lol. Take care now.. see you around..
