My Old Laptop

My old Acer laptop is running on 512MB memory only. It was running so smooth back then, which was more than 3 years ago. The laptop is an old lady now. After several upgrade and install more software, this laptop need more memory obviously. I have tried a lot of software to know more about how my laptop consume it laptop memory.

SmartRAM

This is the screenshot when I was just turned on my laptop. It has consumed half the memory already without running any program. Imagine if I am working with FireFox, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Wah, I can bang my head to the wall by then. The boyfriend did bring a 1GB memory here, hoping that he could upgrade my laptop to a better one. But too bad, it doesn’t match. Sigh.

Oh well, I don’t think this ‘old lady’ will last long lo. But, whatever, use it while can. :P

Airasia: just how fast the price changes

June 27th, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

Oh man, it was so scary. I just checked the Airasia flight from Medan to Jakarta for my auntie. The flight is for next week. She has chosen the date and was fine with the price. I thought I would book it after having my lunch. Stomach was growling.

“Will the price go down after you have your lunch? If that is the case, then take your time,”she said (kidding tone). Oh well, to have Airasia price suddenly goes down is a day dream. But, who knows, miracle might happen. :P

30 minutes after that, I checked the price again. And you know what… It has raised as much as IDR.100.000 per seat. *faint down* Just how fast the price has changed. It is faster than the result of taking Phentermine without a prescription. I wonder maybe Airasia has a tracking thing. They know that is the flight that I wanna book, therefore they raise the price. Hmm.. who knows.

Another lesson to learn, book immediately if you wanna fly with Airasia. The price fluctuates so fast that even 1 second counts.

Day 4: swimming lesson

June 25th, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

I hate sport and any physical exercise. Swimming is the first sport that I picked up willingly, no one pushed me to go for it but me, myself and I. On the first day, I was oh-so-enthusiastic. The energy level was full. I learn how to take breath in the water. Gee, that was scary, I didn’t dare to sink my head in the water at the first time.

Second day, the energy level was still full. I learn how to hold my breath longer in the water then only release it. It was hard at the first time, but quite fun when I managed to solve the problem. Third day, energy level has decreased to 80%. I learn how to move the leg (frog style).

Fourth day which is today, I’m still doing the same thing. I am bore and tired. Partly because I am doing the same thing with yesterday. The other part is because my hands have to hold on to the swimming pool’s wall all the time. Both of the upper arm’s muscle is in a damn great pain now.

I would want to quit the swimming lesson. But, that is so not me. So, I guess I will continue to rant about my muscle pain all day long and continue my swimming lesson. :P

Traffic without dropping entrecard

Gee.. Traffic has been slow down for the past few days since I didn’t drop cards like usual. Well, it proves that entrecard does contribute to the blog’s traffic. Normally I will drop about 40 - 50 cards per day. On the other side, my wordpress theme is 99,99% finished! I think I can use it soon. My blog is going to be so girlie and pinkie. :P I like.

Freelancer name card

June 22nd, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

I’ve quit from my designer job since end of last year and I’ve been freelancing since then. Due to my parents social networking, I can get some design job from their friend and maybe friend’s friends. Some of my friends who has less idea about freelancing always thought that I am very free staying at home doing nothing.

Some of them keep on asking me whether I have found a new job or not. Some even said that I can try hunting on San Francisco jobs. Hello? I have already mentioned that I am going to work at home, no matter what happen. I never say I want to look for a job in an office.

Mock up for the name card.

Then, I thought of making a name card for myself, so I can give it to other people. Well, hoping to gain more exposure and more client. But, as time goes by, I don’t think I can do much in Medan. No appreciation towards design and quotation is too low. Online job is way much better; be it writing or designing. But, I have faith in working at home. More projects is coming on the way. ;)

Hold my breath with the garbage help

June 22nd, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

As a normal human being, I want and need to breath every single second. So, when the swimming teacher asked me to hold my breath in the water for a while then only breath, I went blank. I drank not little water from swimming pool because of that. Sometimes the water went in my nose. -__-” I thought I might need North Carolina health insurance. :P

sampah

But, I have found a solution~! I remembered the only time I could hold my breath for as long as possible was when I walk through the garbage corner to Thamrin Plaza. The boyfriend can stand the smell, but I can’t.

The swimming pool is not so clean. I could see hair strands or small part of moss swam in front of my eyes. So, I imagine those things are the smelly garbage (very very smelly) and hold my breath. It success! :P

Swimming lesson is on!

June 20th, 2008 | Posted by wiehanne

Yuhu, I have started the swimming lesson on last Friday. The lesson starts from 7.30 am to 9 am. I gotta wake up as early as 6.15 am when the weather is still so cold.

swimming-pool-paradiso

I went there on 7 am with my bro and the boyfriend. I thought it was so early, there would not be many people at the swimming pool. But no, the pool was crowded with people. Some people was about to leave. Whoa, what time did they arrive huh? Or rather what time did they wake up? Gee.. small city, everyone sleep early and wake up early, I guess.

The locker area was closed too. So, everyone just put their bags and stuffs on the benches. I find it risky cause anyone can steal something from my bag while I am swimming. I can’t be patronizing my bag all the time. Therefore I only bring my clothes and enough money for transport, that’s all. Forget about bringing mobile phone or Celtic jewelry.
