Money No Enough
Well, I’m not gonna talk about the Singapore movie, Money No Enough and the sequel Money No Enough II. But, it’s just a thought that was brought up recently.
The other day a client came by and my Mum chatted with him and asked,”Eh, *insert name*, got baby already ah?” Oh well, the type of question that will be thrown to someone whom has married for a year or so and still have no baby (as if people need and must get pregnant once married -__-”).
He replied,”Not yet, don’t have enough money. Want to earn more first.”
Ah, money no enough, the answer sounds familiar. I’ve heard it quite often and I also use that answer quite often. Well, it seems like we will never earn and have enough money. My earning does increase from time to time. It always reach the target that I set for the month, but I always feel not enough and would want more. Greedy huh?
When I am awake in the morning, first thing that comes into my mind is about work and money. How is the auction going on, what I’m gonna do to earn more, blablabla.
Now I wonder, how enough is enough…

There is never enough money. Even if you have a vault full of the green stuff you still want more. That’s just human nature. If you wait to have kids when there is “enough money” you will wait forever. It drives me crazy when people as “are you guys ready to have kids yet?” It started like 6 weeks after we got married. 4 years later and still no kids. I think my family is about to go nuts!
Money will never be enough with the constant inflation, current recession. When you are a certain age parents will start pestering you to get married/ have kids. There is never a correct age. If you get married early like in my case at 21 some of my friends said it is a waste to get tied down so early. Fast forward 7yrs to 2008 and they sing a different tune of envy to have settled down with two kids while they are still single. I find it ironic.
It’s like how soon is NOW? I haven’t been able to work since I came here and I am worried that my husband’s earnings won’t be enough. But I am glad that we still survived despite economic downturn, huh.
Katy,
Yea, human nature it is. And, what with the having-kids question, I thought it’s only Chinese whom will throw such a question. Another human nature maybe.
Dominique,
Ugh. The crisis adds up the money-no-enough issue. Getting married at a young age is not bad either.
Ritchiela,
Glad that your family can survive from the global crisis.
Too bad, me also money not enough. lol.
