Summary of 2008

Argh! I still can’t believe this is going to be my last post on year 2008. Time flies. I made a summary of 2007 before and here we go for 2008.

1. Picked up swimming lesson
If you haven’t know, I hate hate hate swimming and pool alot. But, the idea just popped up and there I went, enrolling myself for a swimming lesson (frog style) during the schools’ holiday. I didn’t finish the lesson hence I am a ‘tadpole’ only instead of a ‘frog’. But well, at least I conquer my biggest fear when it comes to water – I manage to dive my head in the pool and adjust the breath. *happy*

2. Got my driving license
Finally, after years of waiting, I picked up driving lesson for the second time (first one was 5 yeard ago) and went to process my driving license few days before the government came out with a new rule – everyone must pass a driving test before he/she is elligble to get the driving license. I am yet to master the way Medanese drive, but I’m sure I will get better from time to time.

3. Bought Canon Ixus 870 IS
My very first time buying such an expensive stuff with my hard earn money. What should I say, it’s the best investment ever! *me love Canon digicam*

4. Jump into Wordpress theme field
Never had I thought that I, supposingly an advertising and grahic design people, can venture into Wordpress theme and build SimplyWP with the boyfriend. Anyhow, this is a perfect combination/partnership between boyfriend and I. I am the front part (design) while he is the back end (coding) but he also designs when the mood comes.

5. Feed myself from freelance life
I always think of working 8-5 or so in an advertising agency, face challenges, and climb the career ladder. But, life changes and I am happy with my freelance life. It is challenging and it keeps me moving & growing. What I like is, I am not stuck in just one field, design, but a lot more (blogging, theme design, you name it).

6. LDR sucks but we manage to survive this year
I flew to KL 2-3 times this year and so did he. He also gave me a surprise visit mid of this year. Such a sweet man although he looks pretty much like a paikia (gangster) from outside. :P Now you understand, don’t judge a book by its cover.
Speaking of this, I can’t believe that we only have 10 days left before we are going to be apart again. Sigh. Can’t I have a normal relationship where we live in the same town, can see each other at least once in a week and make a normal phone call?

I guess that’s it. Will add more when I remember some.

It’s 13 hours to go to year 2009. Bid farewell to year 2008.
