Yes, January 2009 has been a great month for me. I don’t remember I have any major sickness for this month. My relationship is so far so good although we still struggling to find a way to end this LDR. That is the hardest homework I ever had. Even harder than doing design of custom promotional products for my clients. -__-”
Besides that, it keeps me busy with work and work and more work. I would want to complain that I have no time to relax and lazying around. But hey, when more works means more income, what should I complain, right?
Now, off to do my work; greeting cards, themes, illustration. This is going to be another working-during-weekend time.
Initially, Mum planned to go to Brastagi Highland but canceled it due to some reason. We headed off to Pantai Cermin instead, for the seafood. Oh my.. seafood *big smile*
So, there we went to this place which is about 60 minutes away from Medan, hot and not-so-green-place where you won’t find the unique Mulberry trees. Just to have the yummylicious-and-not-so-expensive-seafood. We have prawns, crabs, fishes, and squids for 6 people. The bill was at IDR.218.XXX only.

Seeing the seafood, Mum can’t help but to think of my boyfriend whom loves to eat seafood so much. If only he was here too…

After that, we went to the nearest beach for the sake of digesting the food and sightseeing.

After walking around, I still didn’t get it. What is so much fun and interesting from this dirty beach with brownish color of water huh? All you can do is just – I splash you with the water and you splash me back. You only get… wet and darker at the end of the day. Boring.

This goat came out of nowhere.

Me and bro. A picture to claim that we were here.
And, that was my 3rd day of Chinese New Year. It’s time to go back to work tomorrow.
After a day of staying at home and indulging myself with Korean drama, I went out to Sun Plaza with my parents and bro.

My all-time-stingy-bro decided to treat us for dinner at Sapo Oriental restaurant. Seems that he has received not little amount of red pocket (read: money).

It was our first time ever dining at this oriental restaurant.

The first dish, a soup which I have forgotten the name.

Fish with Thailand sauce (something like that). It tasted somewhat like sweet and sour fish, except that it was oh-so-sour.

The pekking duck (1/4 only). Oh so yummy! iLike duck meat so much compare to chicken meat.

This one is… kungpao chicken if I not mistaken. I’m not good in remembering food’s name. Just eat and enjoy it, that’s it.

The fried squid. Not crispy at all. Two thumbs down for this.
Total 5 dishes and the bill was at IDR.333.XXX. Pretty expensive for 4 people and the portion was quite small. But well, we are talking about 5 dishes and almost all of the dishes is yummylicious, except the fried squid.
Plan for tomorrow: go to Brastagi Highland with family. Fresh air and cool weather, here I come!
Welcome to the year of OX!
The day didn’t start so well but luckily things started to get better after that. When boyfriend’s hometown is greeted by Mr.Flood, whom never fails to visit them yearly, Medan itself is freaking hot that I wish to keep myself in the fridge. Seriously.
Anyway, flash back to last night (Chinese New Year eve) when we had the worst reunion dinner ever at the restaurant of Emerald Garden Hotel.

The foods s*cks to the max. I never thought that it could be oh so worse. Sigh. I would be more than happy to have a relaxing reunion dinner at home with Mum’s cooking or at Delima Restaurant, if not because somebody has ordered a place at Emerald Garden for the big family.

We ended up having a supper at the road side stall behind Hongkong Plaza. It is probably the best and the most delicious fried rice in Medan.
Anyway, coming back to this morning.

After breakfast yadayada, we went to Maha Maitreya temple at Cemara Asri.

Went inside to light up candle and stick a few wishes around the candle.

Pray for a better year and peaceful world. Btw, I saw less and less people was wearing red clothes. It used to be a MUST but not anymore.

I also wrote a few wishes and hung it on this tree.

The above was the wisdom quote that I received from blind-picking it from the Buddha’s bowl (something like that).
After that, we went back, had lunch, my aunties came with the cousins for a few hours, continued to watch the Korean drama, went to Grandma’s place, went to a close-relative’s place, had our dinner at Nelayan Shanghai Kitchen – Sun Plaza, and came home with pain on my feet. The new white shoes is so not comfortable at all, but it looks pretty, how?
And, that is my first day of Chinese New Year. Now, I just want to have a damn good sleep for… let’s say 10 hours, can?

The praying table and foods for my deceased Grandpa and Grandparents
1. Went to Grandma’s place this morning for praying and having lunch together with the big family.
2. Finished the work related stuff (both theme design and the brochure), and that means I can have a holiday for… 3 to 4 days, I suppose.
Happy Chinese New Year Eve! I can’t wait to welcome the year of Ox.
