Sigh.
I just did a stupid mistake this morning. And that is… I accidentally upgrade my Paypal account from personal type to premier type! Arghhh~!!! *continue screaming until no voice* This is a big deal for me, cause I’ve been so comfortable and happily accepting payment with my personal account, I don’t sell toys or clothes on ebay too., there is no reason to upgrade to the stupid premier account.
Flash back, I received $XX payment via credit/debit card. There was 2 buttons; accept and upgrade or something like that. I was too lazy to decline and asked the buyer to send to other account (for some yadayada reason), so I *somewhat* click the button that brought me to this page and congrats me for successfully upgrading my account. Wth?!? That’s when my eye balls almost popped out.
How I wish that Ctrl+Z could work in this case. But never mind, I remember there is a way to downgrade the account by contacting the customer service. It will resolved in 2-3 days time. I gotta be careful next time cause I read that, we are allowed to downgrade it for 1 time only. The next time I accidentally upgrade my account, it will be premier type for… forever.
Lesson learn. Never ever deal with payment or work related stuff when you just woke up.
Update (March 13th):
My account is officially back to personal type! Woohoo! Many thanks to the customer service of Paypal for working so fast.
If you want to downgrade, here’s how:
1. Login to Paypal account, look for “Contact Us” at the footer there.
2. It will open in a new page, click “Contact Customer Service”.
3. Choose “My Account” under “1 – Choose a Topic”
4. Choose “Changing/Updating Account Information” under “2 – Choose a Subtopic”
5. Fill this “downgrade my account from Premier to Personal” under “3 – Summarize your question in one sentence.”
6. Follow the next step, that’s it.

March 12, 2009 at 12:48 pmI did that too awhile ago – is it best to keep it a personal account?

March 12, 2009 at 9:36 pmIt depends on the need I think. I’ve compared the chart between personal and premier, and it seems that personal is best for now. You can read it and compare with your need too.

March 12, 2009 at 2:55 pmdo you get charge more with the premier account?
wiehanne
March 12, 2009 at 9:32 pmFor some payment type, yes. But if you often receive payment from credit/debit card, then premier account is better, cause it doesn’t charged as much as personal type and no limit of the credit/debit payment acceptance.

March 12, 2009 at 7:12 pmOh my! I think that would mean there will be fees for some of your transactions, right? Can you ask Paypal if you can downgrade or something?

March 12, 2009 at 9:30 pmYeap, that’s what I scare of. Although there is no downgrade button, but one can contact the customer service/help to do so. I just did that. Hope it will resolve soon.

March 17, 2009 at 12:07 pmI think I remembered that I was sort of “forced” to move to the premiere account. Can’t really remember what or why though O_o
