A visit to orphanage house
I was somewhat reluctant to go when Jan invited me for a visit to the orphanage house. Not because of the fact that we would be going with tonnes of people whom we barely know (read: strangers, a group from WALUBI – Buddhist association thing), but because we would be going there on 9am Sunday (which is yesterday). Oh well, after a week of doing extra work, I thought of having a good rest (read: wake up late, watch TV, etc) on Sunday before going to the education expo and wedding dinner. *lazy mode on*
But, the other side of me gave me this buzz,”Wth? You’ve been working at home during the weekday and Saturday. Now, get a break and drag yourself out to see the world and people.” I mean, even insurance brokers from top notch company like Allsup also have their Sunday off from selling disability insurance and meeting with potential clients. And, I also deserve one eh?
It became a battle in between the angel and the devil side. But like usual, the angel side won. Hehe.. So, there I went to ‘donate’ my time by helping them, which turn up that I wasn’t really so helpful and wasting the car space only (I think).
But, hey, presence counts eh?
Anyway, *cold joke mode on* I think they were following India timezone cause they picked me up at around 10.30am instead of 9am.
I know, I already got a free transportation, free lunch, free watch-movie-session and fun time but still complain about the late pick up time? So un-thankful hor?
Let’s skip the packing and driving part, and fast forward to our arrival (with 6-7 cars) at the orphanage house. They passed the donation to the management (rice, sugar, etc), gave the children (around 70-80 kids) a pack of fried rice while preparing for the movie session.
Here’s the popcorn that has been prepared. So, after finished with the lunch, we proceeded with watching movie from the laptop and projector. Guess what movie it is? I’ll answer it myself – Happy Feet, the cutie penguin. Whenever there was a shocking scene, like when the ugly sea ‘monster’ trying to catch the innocent penguin, almost all of them went Aaa… Oooo.. Wow… Oh no.. kind of reaction. As if they are watching the 4D movie in cinema. Bottom line, the atmosphere was so vibrant.
After finished with the movie, we had some little gaming session. Everyone was standing up except this little kid whom was falling asleep. It was either he got bore of the movie or he never skipped his nap.

Queuing to receive their packages/presents

When ‘cameraman’ asked them to pose, they directly strike this pose with smile.

Now, it’s time for my picture, along with the girls.
I can’t believe that we spent 5-6 hours, including the journey of going there (bright sunny day) and going back home (raining). Whew…
And, I receive this sms earlier this morning,”Pantat kalian sakit ga?” Oh well, the result of sitting on the mat for 2 hours. lol.
