Today.com bids farewell to Entrecard

I should have seen it coming,
I should have read the signs
Anyway, I guess it’s over…

Oh well.. So Today.com has demanded their bloggers to remove Entrecard widget. First, because of the new policy of Entrecard regarding the third party advertisement, which somewhat crashes with the policy of Today.com. Second, because Today.com finally realizes that the traffic from Entrecard is pretty useless (high bounce rate etc).

I am fine with removing Entrecard from my Asian Dramas blog. Not wanting to be arrogant, but Entrecard doesn’t really contribute in giving me traffic (quality and quantity). Okay, probably it did, for the first 3 days or so. After that, it’s just a repetition, not much new traffic that can convert in some amount of UV (unique visit). Besides, the time that I spent in dropping card is not balance with what I get in return. Not a new problem for Entrecard-ers.

I have to admit that, yes thanks to Entrecard I am able to find lots of wonderful/friendly bloggers with interesting blogs (in terms of theme design and content). But.. I only able to stick/follow a few blogs (probably 20 or so) and really read their posts and/or drop comment. Heck, sometimes it takes ages for some blogs to load (wtf, homepage shows more than 10 long posts with tonnes of widgets) hence I just drop and run. Not a new problem too.

Bottom line, we can’t avoid drop and run scene in Entrecard. It’s like.. a friendship scene. I know tonnes of people and refer them as my friend. But there is just a few that I really keep in touch (read: chat/share about ourselves, life, etc), the rest is just a hi-bye friends.

Anyway, this is just another Entrecard-related-post. I shall get back to finish my work now. Tomorrow is public holiday. Yeehhhaaa!!!

that’s so true… most people just drop cards and run off. Some blogs have too many advertisements and pictures; and they really turns me off. i am still considering whether to completely drop off my entrecard too.

I thought of taking it down from this blog too when I clean up the blog last month. But, on a second thought, I’ll leave it there first.
