There is light in the recession tunnel

The global recession has caused not small amount of people to lose their job. This is the time when nature’s law works. I mean, those with higher education/knowledge/skill will survive while those with a so-so education/knowledge/skill will be kicked out and become jobless. This is a metaphor in a nutshell.

So, instead of drowning into the sea of depression, it is best to look for a way to upgrade yourself (read: education or skill) such as taking an online course, which won’t cost as much as going to university and more flexible.

For example, if you are in the engineering fields, you can advance yourself by completing 24 weeks Project Management certificate online course from Saint Joseph’s University Professional. This course involves the learning and development of leadership, team-building, and other management related stuff that is required in order to climb high in your career.

The median wages for Engineering Managers is around $111,020 annual. I believe there is plenty of people aiming for career in this field. Hence you need to upgrade yourself and stand out from the crowd!

A visit to orphanage house

I was somewhat reluctant to go when Jan invited me for a visit to the orphanage house. Not because of the fact that we would be going with tonnes of people whom we barely know (read: strangers, a group from WALUBI – Buddhist association thing), but because we would be going there on 9am Sunday (which is yesterday). Oh well, after a week of doing extra work, I thought of having a good rest (read: wake up late, watch TV, etc) on Sunday before going to the education expo and wedding dinner. *lazy mode on*

road

But, the other side of me gave me this buzz,”Wth? You’ve been working at home during the weekday and Saturday. Now, get a break and drag yourself out to see the world and people.” I mean, even insurance brokers from top notch company like Allsup also have their Sunday off from selling disability insurance and meeting with potential clients. And, I also deserve one eh?

It became a battle in between the angel and the devil side. But like usual, the angel side won. Hehe.. So, there I went to ‘donate’ my time by helping them, which turn up that I wasn’t really so helpful and wasting the car space only (I think). :P But, hey, presence counts eh?

Anyway, *cold joke mode on* I think they were following India timezone cause they picked me up at around 10.30am instead of 9am. :P I know, I already got a free transportation, free lunch, free watch-movie-session and fun time but still complain about the late pick up time? So un-thankful hor?

High school and singing

Last Saturday was a special day cause my brother was going to perform (read: sing) on the stage (for the first time!) along with his friends. Alright, it wasn’t a mumbo jumbo event but the school was having a singing competition. And no, he didn’t join as a contestant but just to fill the agenda and cheer the audience. But still, they have a certain attire which is black/white t-shirt. Luckily the teacher didn’t demand them to wear a tuxedo. Pfiuh.

The singing competition has started early morning 9am and he sms-ed me when his turn (and his friends) was about to come, which was around 12. I quickly went to the school with my Mum and recorded the performance with my digicam.

They had 2 songs in hand, both Indonesian songs. The first song was “Cari Pacar Lagi” (direct translation: Find boyfriend/girlfriend again) by ST 12. What a weird name of a band, I didn’t even know that this band exist. :P

The second song , “Racun Dunia” by The Changcuters, received a greater respond from the audience (read: students). Almost everyone went OOo.. UUU… AAaa.. whatever screaming voice whenever they sang this part “Wanita racun dunia..Karna dia butakan semua..“, means woman is the world’s poison.. cause she blinded everything.. (Something like that, my translation s*cks. :P )

It was oh so merry and crowded, I felt as if I was attending a small concert. lol. The joy of being in high school!

I want to blog but…

… I am too lazy to edit the pictures that I have taken

… I have no time to post although I have a few in my mind. Don’t count this post. But I still have time to daydream about European cruises and the foods

… I have other priority. This is personal blog, so whatever la

Last but not least, there is some issue that keeps on bothering me. I guess I won’t sleep, eat, breath well until I get the answer. On the other side of another issue, I need to give my answer today.

Bah! Life is full of surprise.

Local universities education expo

So.. I went to the education expo during lunch time, just for the sake of taking pictures. :P This is the benefit of having a school nearby your house. Hehe.. I could be working at my home while researching about faucets online and the unique selling point. And, I could go out to other place in the next 5 minutes or so. Talk about convenient!

On the normal day, this place serves as basket ball field and badminton field. Look at that small fan. No wonder it was oh-so-hot there. Sigh. Besides, the school’s hall and the field is just too small to accommodate this expo. Perhaps it was me, but I felt oh so packed and crowded. I hate this. Give me some space (to breath and to walk) can?

This is the hall with the slippery tile where my bro fell down during the PE class, injured his arm and went for surgery. Ugh. This hall also brings horror to me cause I hate PE class alot! We played table tennis for 3 years during junior high school and I am still a noob. Sigh. Thanks G I moved to other school to continue my senior high, went in a special class and didn’t need to have PE class. Woohoo!!

My bro said that the representative of Limkokwing Uni was there too, although I didn’t see the name listed in the board. That silly boy has also asked about the studying fee from Raffles and Limkokwing. -__-”

White shirt and gray skirt is the uniform for senior high school. That golden brownish uniform is for the so called national plus class; with foreign teachers, English language, expensive school fee which is about 3 times the fee for normal class. The students are supposed to be the smart one but it is a different story for this school. As long as you can afford the expensive fee, you can enroll into the so called national class. Haihz.. The quality of the students (from this school) has decreased from year to year.
