My pink LG KF350 ice cream is here!

Woohoo! I am in a super-duper-happy mood as I finally get my pink LG ice cream phone (RM799) last night. Not only that, the weather isn’t as hot as yesterday but cloudy and windy. Ah, nice!

lg-ice-cream-pink
My old Nokia 1208 and the new pink LG ice cream

I always being skeptical when it comes to gadget and brand. I mean, I believe that one particular brand is strong in one area hence I won’t go for other brands, like how I always stand at Canon side when it comes to digicam. I don’t even want to look at Sony, Nikon, Olympus, etc. Just how strong Canon branding is (for me). But for other things like office furniture, brand doesn’t really matter to me. I won’t insist to go Ikea to buy a white working table. Any furniture shop will do cause it’s just a working table. I’m weird.

When it comes to mobile phone, I also kinda believe that Nokia is the best to go for. But this time I give it an exemption and allow myself to go for the non-popular brand in Indonesia which is LG. But this LG ice cream isn’t sold in Indonesia yet (at least it wasn’t sold in Medan when I asked 3 weeks ago), luckily it is released in KL already. I don’t care if people say it is lagging, battery can’t last long yadayada. The pastel pink color is enough to blind my eyes and catch my heart. Hehe..

I actually planned to do a complete review of this pink ice cream phone. But laziness took over it. :P

The keypad’s light is in sweet pink.

The LED light or whatever it is called. Besides time, it can show smiley face or phone number when there is a call.

For now, this is the best-est phone that I ever get, from the price to color to features, everything. Thanks to boyfriend for driving me around and accompany me to hunt for the pink LG ice cream. He fulfills whatever I want. My very own genie in the bottle indeed. :P

P.S. Wootz… I am listed in 25 Hot Female Web Designers Part 2, by Lee Munroe! *big smile along with big wet eyes*

Wow what a coincidence. I’m currently in the same predicament as you were, I am using a nokia 1208 and just recently found out about the LG ice cream phone. I want it sooo bad I haven’t been able to concentrate on my schoolwork for the past few days lol. Before my nokia I used a sony ericsson k800 which had really good features, but I broke it lol. I imagine the LG won’t have as good features but I can’t resist the pink color and the LED lights. I am looking for something simple and cute anyway.
One question I had about the LG:
I’ve never had an LG phone before so I was wondering if it lags a lot? My SE lagged sometimes and it always bothered me.

Thanks, I’m happy I came across your blog. The pictures look great!

      Hi Monica,

Lol.. What a coincidence! Well, the LG phone is lagging sometimes (very rare though). Just don’t compare the speed with Nokia phone especially phone like 1208. :P

Yeah a review would be cool! I was also wondering how many text msgs maximum can the phone store? Has it given you any problems yet? i’m hesitant to get one because of the problems I’ve been reading about the phone hanging and stuff.

If you are a fans to pink color, then go for the pink one. Before I bought this phone, a seller told me to go for white cause some people will easily get bore with pink color. It goes back to you again. :D Happy choosing!

lol.. it will be harder to choose now. I didn’t test the white LG so I have no idea about the light color. I suppose it will be the same. Erm, Maybe you can ask for demo on the spot, before you buy the phone?

      Hi Ellie,
I bought the phone in Malaysia. It isn’t available in Indonesia too. Probably you can try buying it online? But I don’t know which site to go for, though. Price was MYR799, you can convert it to Peso. :)

I am hoping to get this phone soon too. Like many others, I am having difficult times choosing which colour to buy lol. white or pink! But I guess I’m leaning towards the pink one. How are you liking the phone? I’ve also heard many cons about this phone hanging and stuff. But if I press the buttons slowly, there should be no problems right? What do you do if it freezes/hangs? Sorry for all these questions…

Erm.. depends on how bad the freeze/hang is. If the application hangs, I’ll just press the “end call” button. Otherwise give the phone some time to process what I have pressed and it should be back to normal. The process time is quite slow, hence I cannot type message quickly just like how I use Nokia phone.

When you get the phone, learn about the behavior and you won’t experience the hang/freeze thing. :)

I bought this LG ice cream without a contract with any telco company. I bought it from other country (Malaysia) and put my own simcard in it.

You just need to learn about the phone speed and be gentle in using it, the phone won’t hang so often. :)

hello, i’m really interested about this phone…first of all, its pink color have attracted my eyes coz obviously i LOVE pink! :D i have my phone w/c is Sony Ericsson W910i for almost a year now and for me, it’s a PERFECT phone that fits me…but one thing i’m disappointed about that phone is–
it’s not PINK! lol mine is in red…
so when i’ve seen this LG KF350 (just awhile ago^^), i’ve thought
“Oh my God! this is a perfect phone for me.” although i’m not really sure about its quality.

1.Are you not having any problems on phone calling? (w/c is the main purpose of having a phone)
2.Does it have hard or soft keypads? (i’m sorry for this question but i’m really curious about it)
I hope you could give me your most honest review or answers regarding my questions. Thank You.

      Hi,

      1. No, there is no problem in phone calling. After all mobile phone is created for calling.
      2. I think I should categorize it as medium. Bottom line, no problem in pressing the keypads. It’s not too hard, not too soft too.

~How much internal and external memory ?
    ~How are the music speakers?

      1. Yes, I dropped once from the staircase, probably from around 1m height. Aftermath: no scratch on the phone although it hit the floor and no hang whatsoever.
      2. External 1GB internal 30MB (detail of the spec can be viewed here: http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_kf350-2485.php)
      3. Speaker is not bad. I don’t really use it for mp3.
      4. MP4/H.263 player, MP3/EAAC+/WMA player (refer to link #2)
      5. Camera is quiet clear, even better than nokia e71 (for me)

Hello! I’m also thinking about buying this phone, but I’ve seen many reviews of it ‘hanging’..
what exactly is hanging? Because I always picture it as if it broke, and it never turns on again . xD

Also, I’ll be buying this phone on eBay..

Hanging as in it will stop functioning and the screen freeze no matter what keypad you press, until you take out the battery and insert it again. That’s the worst hanging case. Normally, it will just freeze for a few seconds and I’ll press the reject-call button to force stop the application. :)
