Sibu to Kuala Lumpur
Tuesday May 4, we take afternoon flight from Sibu to Kuala Lumpur. Supposed to depart one or three hours earlier but Airasia informed about the delayed one month in advance.
Staying at Tune hotels nearby LCCT for a night. There is shuttle bus from LCCT to Tune hotels and vice versa, only RM1 per person per way. So convenient. But the place is kinda boring, only got cafeteria downstairs. Luckily a friend of my boy drops by for limteh-ing session and chat from hcg diet recipes to politic scene.
The room is small, but like what their advertisement said, 5-star sleeping experience at a 1-star price; Comfie bed, power shower and clean. Got air-con but need to pay, well ceiling fan is enough for such a small room. What I love best is the huge mirror in the room and bathroom.
Kuala Lumpur to Day 1 in Bali
Wednesday May 5, Tune hotels’ check out time is early morning 10am. After that we just chill at the cafeteria downstairs before heads to LCCT by shuttle bus and wait for 4pm flight to Bali. *excited*
The 3 hours flight feel oh so long. But we finally touch down at Ngurah Rai airport at 7pm. My auntie once told me that there will be tonnes of Bali brochures upon the arrival area, it’s proven and we just grab those as reference although I’ve done lots of online research.
As soon as we go out to the arrival gate, we are greeted by so many hotel staffs and drivers with whatsoever hotel and guest’s name, but couldn’t find ours. So we just take Blue Bird’s taxi at IDR100.000 to Taman Ayu Legian hotel at Legian street, around 15 minutes from the airport.
When we enter Legian street, I just go wow-ing non-stop. Despite the small street, there are so many shops and eating place along the street; also tonnes of rental cars/motorbike, tour packages, and money changers. Cars and motorbikes keep on passing by non-stop. The hype is like 20 times than Bukit Bintang KL, more than what I expected to be.
Anyway, after check-in we go for a walk along Legian street and get the first unpleasant experience with local seller of a souvenir shop. Super rude and give such a high price, bargaining there is kinda hard like Chinatown in KL. -__-”
We come across Bali bombing’s monument (upper left at the above picture) which is quite near with our hotel. Can’t imagine how it was like back then. Sigh. But I’m glad that the tourism in Bali is picking up very fast.
After the long walk, we have our late dinner at Sidoi Warung. Despite the warung name, the place is like cafe actually. Price is oh so reasonable if compares to other cafes there. Sweet sour chicken rice is IDR21.500 only. Juice is IDR12.000. I forget the rest of the price already. Overall good price, good ambience, good portion of food, and good taste!
After dinner we go back hotel to have a rest and sleep. That’s all for day 1 in Bali. ![]()
