What does June offer for me

June is all about opening our mind and making decision to change. Sort of turning point.

In terms of personal life, my boy and I have been discussing and weighing a lot of life aspects. Decided to make the change as well, which will take place in about 3 months from now. We are super exciting! If you are thinking about baby, scratch that idea please. Hehe.. It’s something bigger than purchasing TV mounts.

In term of business, we are in the midst of re-design and re-align both simplyWP and Zhng Design Studio; from the strategy aspect and also the interface. Time to really apply what we’ve learnt during the advertising course!

Oh btw, I just had my first online interview. You can read my insightful and inspirational stories *cough cough* on my client’s site, Between Us Girls.

In the process, I became one of simplyWP.net?s most particular customers as well as great colleagues with my designer, though separated by thousands of miles. Yes the internet has spawned personal and work relationships, but I would have never thought I would be working with someone in Malaysia, yes Malaysia.

Sachkia is residing in UK Virgin Islands and I’m in Malaysia, yet we get to work together thanks to internet and email. This (read: work with people around the world) is also one of the thing that I like from my job. It offers so many possibilities for me.

Happy Wednesday! :)

Bali Trip: Day 6 – City Tour and Bye Bali

Here’s my last post for Bali. Pfiuh! Not much to do, hence not many pictures. Besides, we have run out of place to visit on day 5. :P

Monday, May 10 We actually have the dilemma: hire the driver for our last day in Bali or not. From our hotel to airport is just 15 minutes, but our flight was re-timed to later 9pm something (Airasia sent out the notification one month in advance) while check-out time is 12 noon. We end up ask the driver to come around 12 noon, check out from hotel and off for city tour until 7pm which is more to visiting museum and check out document management software (read: visit shopping mall).

Bali Trip: Day 5 – GWK / Dreamland / Uluwatu / Babi Guling / Jimbaran

Hello Saturday! Let’s continue my Bali Honeymoon Trip post before my memory fails me big time and I lost the interest to write.

Sunday, May 9 We explore Southern part of Bali for the day. After half day of touring, we basically run out of place to visit already. Hehe. We opted out Tanjung Benoa watersport cause we don’t want to get wet; so NO jetski, parasailing, banana boat, flying fish, water ski, etc. Not interested with turtle island. Had enough of snorkeling during Perhentian trip last year – water isn’t our best friend especially me.

This also the day when my sore-throat starts to get serious and my voice becomes very sexy. But don’t care, culinary hunting must go on. :P I just continue to feed my throat with Ricola. Cause Guardian sells sore throat medicine at ridiculous price (read: super duper expensive like RM60), even one a day prenatal vitamins is cheaper than sore throat one.

GWK Cultural Park (NOT GOOD) // Dreamland beach // Pura Uluwatu // Babi Guling for lunch // Discovery Mall // Kuta Beach // Dinner at Jimbaran Bay

#1 GWK Cultural Park – IDR50,000 for foreigner // IDR25,000 for domestic // IDR5,000 for car parking

Father and Son by Yusuf + Ronan Keating

I woke up early morning, took a shower, preparde a cup of Milo Ice and biscuit (gonna drag my boy for breakfast later cause he promised me :P ), sat in front of my PC to check email, Twitter and Facebook (the routine before start doing the real work) and got distracted by electric grill promotion. Saw a friend sharing this MV on Facebook, Father and Son by Ronan Keating and Yusuf.

I was triggered to play the MV cause of the title and hey, it’s Ronan Keating! Me love his voice (aside from Westlife, old story) especially in When You Say Nothing at All.

This song manages to bring me down the memory lane. I miss my Dad’s lecture. I miss how we get to have breakfast together although it’s always at the same noodle stall. Though I’m all grown up and married, but I know I’m always Daddy’s little girl in his heart. :)

And, here’s father and daughter related song, Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle, thanks to Yenny for responding to my tweet. :) These two songs really made up my Tuesday!

We are Six Months!

Once our friend asked: your wedding ceremonies are on different dates, so which one is the anniversary date?

Okay, 28 Nov – our I Do moment at church, 29 Nov – bride side’s reception at Medan, 6 Dec – actual day with Chinese wedding ceremony, 19 Feb – marriage registration. We picked 6 Dec as our wedding anniversary date, cause that’s when he fetched me and my Dad officially handed his bao bei daughter. Full stop.

One of the drafts for our wedding card. But we didn’t use it due to the high cost for custom card printing.

So yeah, today marks 6 months of our wedding and marriage. I know 6 months is peanuts compare to the many more years to come. But still it’s a day to celebrate our togetherness (read: farewell to LDR).

wedding

I am glad and feel blessed, cause am able to make a living from my design skill + web + internet, and that I took the plunge to freelance two and half year ago. Thanks to that, I can follow my husband to move into this small town without leaving my career behind or worry about employment screening service. Basically can follow him wherever he will go, just like Digi yellow-man. :P Cause that’s the point of us getting married, to stay together and ditch LDR.

dogs

I am also amaze with my patience, ability to live and be-friend with the 8 dogs and 3 puppies. Those who know me well surely understand how I never get used to dogs and cats. My family dislike pets, I ran when I saw a dog, and I cried when the cat’s tail touched my leg (during college time). But it’s the opposite thing now, thanks to the power of love and such. But I still can’t cope with cat (sound, poop, fur) although I don’t have the fear like before.

Living with in law is so far so good, although I was quite scare cause we have so many unpleasant stories about mother in law and daughter in law. But hey, even if it’s not now, we might live with my in law in the future when they are older. Can’t be leaving them at old folk’s home or even alone at another house right? So, nothing to lose for facing the fear now.

I am lucky that the typical mother in law from hell doesn’t apply on my MIL. She gives us freedom, she never complains and blab on how I can’t cook, she ta-bao fried Indian Mee from Mitsu (that’s my fave!), she never pushes us to give her grandson anytime soon, and the list goes on. Of course there is some issue on habit and so on, we don’t share the same mind after all. But it isn’t something to be fussy about.

Aside from those blessings, I do have complaints here and there about this town and other things. But that’s what makes life balance, no? :P
