Hello Saturday! Let’s continue my Bali Honeymoon Trip post before my memory fails me big time and I lost the interest to write.
Sunday, May 9 We explore Southern part of Bali for the day. After half day of touring, we basically run out of place to visit already. Hehe. We opted out Tanjung Benoa watersport cause we don’t want to get wet; so NO jetski, parasailing, banana boat, flying fish, water ski, etc. Not interested with turtle island. Had enough of snorkeling during Perhentian trip last year – water isn’t our best friend especially me.
This also the day when my sore-throat starts to get serious and my voice becomes very sexy. But don’t care, culinary hunting must go on.
I just continue to feed my throat with Ricola. Cause Guardian sells sore throat medicine at ridiculous price (read: super duper expensive like RM60), even one a day prenatal vitamins is cheaper than sore throat one.
GWK Cultural Park (NOT GOOD) // Dreamland beach // Pura Uluwatu // Babi Guling for lunch // Discovery Mall // Kuta Beach // Dinner at Jimbaran Bay
#1 GWK Cultural Park – IDR50,000 for foreigner // IDR25,000 for domestic // IDR5,000 for car parking

We left the hotel in Kuta around 10am something just like the other days cause we lazy to get up early.
First stop for the day is GWK / Garuda Wisnu Kencana Park (view website). It’s a huge complex with the giant statue as the main highlight. The shop lots and other planning is still in progress.
Bottom line, the place is quite boring and not worth the price. Not until we discover this building where we can get free services such as cartoon drawing, nail art, temporary tattoo, etc just by showing our entrance tickets.
#2 Dreamland beach – IDR15,000 for car parking
Located at Pecatu, not far from Uluwatu, Dreamland beach is said to be one of the most beautiful beach in Bali. Natural, backpacker, surfer, less crowd, cheap. But not anymore when the place was developed into high end resort. It’s now better known as Klapa New Kuta Beach. I remember my auntie saying: ei, must visit Klapa resort, neh the Tommy Soeharto one, people says the resort so nice.
From the car parking to the beach, we still need to walk through a rocky path. All sweaty cause it’s noon time when we go there. Bad timing but luckily I do apply sun-block before leaving the hotel.
I have no idea how Dreamland beach looked like back then, but it looks beautiful to me now. The sand, the water, the wave is just different from Kuta beach. There is more local people here compare to Kuta.
We walk along the beach side with barefoot. Let our feet touch the smooth sand and being swept by the water when the wave comes. Seeing people surfing is interesting too.
#3 Pura Uluwatu – IDR3,000/person

Next destination is Pura Uluwatu cause it is located near Dreamland. This is my most favorite place among the trip. Entrance ticket only IDR3,000 and it has a breathtaking view. Too bad we visit it at the wrong time, cause it is said to have beautiful sunset view.
I’ve read that there is tonnes of monkeys around the area. Notice that I dare not tie my hair or wear hat.
Fortunately when we go there, there is less monkeys. Pfiuh.
The no 1 item on my must-eat list is Babi Guling, especially Ibu Oka one, but some said it’s too commercialized. End up we don’t spend so much time at Ubud and the driver brings us to other restaurant that serves Babi Guling. It’s my first time tasting this, all I can say is delicious and spicy is just right. Adds on Teh Botol. Oh my, nothing can beats Indonesia foods! Price wise, I forget cause we don’t keep the receipt.
After the late lunch, we run out of place to visit already and basically just wait for dinner at Jimbaran Bay. The only options is to visit shopping complex, what else left?
Our choice falls on Discovery Mall nearby Kuta.
Later on we walk to Kuta beach and get surprise with the crowds. All waiting for sunset I suppose.
Here comes the romantic dinner at oh-so-commercialized Jimbaran Bay. Imagine seafood dining at beach side with candle, feet getting to feel the sands, hear the wave sounds, and see sunset with your love one. Awesome!
From online research, so many people recommended Lia Cafe. But we leave it to the driver who brings us to Blue Marlin Cafe. After seated, we are given the menu of seafoods per gram which is oh so expensive. We quickly ask for the set menu and pick IDR300,000 set for 2 person. Included 15% tax, it becomes IDR345,000.
We go there quite early and get to have the first row table. Ambience is great. I am blew away by the ambience when my boy suddenly says,”What so romantic with eating in darkness? I can hardly see the dishes clearly.” LOL.. it’s oh so him.
Anyway, the seafood tastes so so only but it makes me forget about my sore throat for a moment. The portion itself is more than enough for 2 person. Bottom line, dinner at Jimbaran is good to be experienced one time only. Finish with the dinner, we go back hotel and call it a day.
Okay, one more post to go before I end our Bali Honeymoon Trip series.
