The good thing of being self-employed, I can take as many leave as I want in one year. Be jealous now.
But… the down side, it’s all unpaid leave cause practically all projects is paused until hubby and I are back – we never bring laptop unless it’s a going back my/his hometown’s trip. After all, the whole point of vacation trip is to be away from work.
Speaking of which, our flight to Jakarta is on (Yay!). Packing is done. Fill up the medical carts and insurance as well.
I definitely can’t wait to taste my home-country’s food, never mind that people says Jakarta’s food isn’t as delicious as Medan’s food, so long that I can have nasi padang. Next to food is wedding, family reunion, and meet-up. But I’m afraid when thinking about traffic jam there.
Btw, Happy Thanksgiving to you (who celebrate it)!
One of the good things of being self-employed, working hour is pretty flexible. When tired with working on design for let’s say acai scams, we can go for a walk or shopping.
Anyway, we spared our Tuesday morning to visit Les’ Copaque Production Sdn. Bhd, a local animation company that produces the famous Upin Ipin & The Geng – official site. Thanks to 95percent Academy for arranging the two-hours visit for their graduate.

The Boss shared how they started the business, which was quite inspiring to me. To be honest when I first heard about Upin Ipin, I gave my wtf look cause it’s a local product (what a typical mindset eh?) and the character doesn’t look appealing to me at all.
But see where they are now. Not only making name in Malaysia but also my home-country, Indonesia. And the staff also mentioned that more than half of the Facebook fans are Indonesian. -__-”

We also walked around each departments and got to see the men behind the animation. Sketching, modelling, rendering, whatsoever tons of process. Whew.. Made me kinda miss cubicle office environment, but not much.
Well, more pumping to do our next start-ups now.
Hubby’s friend suggested to have Korean BBQ + steamboat at home on last weekend. So there we, two couples, went to Tesco for grocery shopping on Saturday evening.
Coincidentally Saturday was a no plastic bag day and we forgot to bring recycle bag along. Duh! Memory is getting worse. Not a big deal if we only bought small thing like sleep aids, can put it in the pocket or bag. But there were meat, veges, juices, blablabla. Luckily there was four of us, have enough hands to carry those stuffs.

We bought too much and ended up having it for two nights in a row. What a food fest!
Oh well, one good news and one bad news in one post. Such is a life.
Moving on to the good news first. I have a relative’s wedding coming in 2 weeks time.
Ah, Big day, wedding dresses, wedding cake, roses, big family gathering, etc. How lovely! It gives me a strong reason to visit Jakarta, the capital city of my home-country Indonesia. Will meet up with my parent there and I’ll get to see my cutie cousins, whom I haven’t seen in 4 years or so.

I am all exciting until I heard the news about the volcanic eruption from Mount Merapi at Central Java of Indonesia, read more. It’s been weeks and still going on. Sigh.
As if it is not sad enough to hear about the death news, evacuation and all, now some of the flight is being affected as well. Like KL – Medan and sometimes KL – Jakarta, depends on the situation of the eruption. Sigh.
Let’s pray for Indonesia. At the same time, pray that my upcoming flight won’t be cancelled.
Last Friday was Deepavali Day, an important five-day festival in Hinduism – read more on wiki. It was a public holiday here so we took a day off from work and join the public to have a long weekend. We realize that we need to get a life too! Outside from soc-med like Facebook and Twitter.

Meet up with my dearest brother first whom wanted to hunt for personalized footballs items.
So off we went to city center for a meet-up with my high school friend + her hubby, whom ‘escaped’ from Singapore for a weekend getaway. It’s kinda awkward as we haven’t see each other for years, probably 3 or is it 5 years, cant’ remember. But it feels good being able to see each other again. Reminds me about the ‘ku be phau‘ time.

From Chinatown we drove to Berjaya Times Square for late lunch. Can’t think of any other foods that is more Malaysian so we settled for Bar B.Q. Plaza (visit their website), a Thai BBQ which is very much like Korean BBQ style. We’re such a lousy host -__-”

Gotta thanks GPS for guiding us all the way from the house to KL city center. Initially we thought of parked the car at nearest LRT train station and took LRT to city, but one needed touch&go card (new system?) which we don’t have (can’t find other option like paying for hourly or daily rate) while another one has an event going on at the parking area. So wtf.
