Amazing How Football Unites Us

I’m not a football/soccer fan, and so does hubby. We are more interested in rocawear website, analyzing the design, function and whats not. Told you, we’re the creative geek couple. :P So when there was this football match among Southeast Asian countries – AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 – we didn’t really care about it and just follow the score update from our Twitter timeline. Gosh, there goes the era of reading offline newspaper.

Our ignorance ended when our home-country, Malaysia (hubby’s) and Indonesia (mine), went into final. Twitter-land started to heat up when they have the final 1st leg on last Sunday Dec 26th at KL, Malaysia. Suddenly I was affected with the football fever and purposely followed the match from Twitter timeline. Too bad Indonesia lost 0 – 3.

There was an audience(s) pointing green laser to players in the middle of the match, immediately numerous of people tweeted about #Malaysiacheatlaser and it became trending topic. *surprise me* Proofing how large Twitter users from Indonesia is and we can unite if we really want to.

Well, tonight was the final 2nd leg at Jakarta, Indonesia. Hubby and I followed the first half of the game from Twitter timeline and went out to coffee shop to watch the second half. The place was crowded, everyone facing the projector screen and TV, yelling all time, waving their Malaysia’s flag, boo-ing when the TV directed to Indonesia’s players/trainers, so shiok!

Despite the large number of supporters from stadium & Twitter-land, dearest Indonesia team didn’t came out as the champion. We did win the game 2 – 1. But added the score on the 1st leg, we are at 2 – 4. *sad*

Today’s trending topic was: #GarudaFightsBack, Congratulation Malaysia, #thankyouriedl, #loveindonesia, and so on. I’m amazed with how we use social media. Well, somehow football unites us (fellow Indonesians) and hubby & I. It’s our first time watching football match together btw, yeap we didn’t even watch World Cup. :P

Another not-less amaze news, Malaysia PM declares this Friday as public holiday not long after the winning. Like this also can. -___-”

Getaway Or Stay At Home

We are officially on holiday until early January. Yay! No big plan like travelling out of town or overseas, we just want to chill at home that’s all. But I’m starting to get itchy and thinking of spending two days one night out of town on New Year Eve. Melaka comes out on the list first. The idea of going to kampong and learn about plantation like fig tree sounds great too.

I guess I’ll just count button and decide from there. There is another thought also such as traffic jam and expensive hotel rate at such peak season. Hmm..

Update: We spent the New Year Eve at A’famosa resort. Not so great place, but still have a good time. :)

Christmas Eve Dinner

We had a dinner together with hubby’s friend & wife and and the friend whom came here to do a small surgery & his Mom. Pick Sushi Zanmai, a Japanese restaurant at Sunway Pyramid as our dinner place. What a long queue there, we even have time to look for bushnell spotting scope and other stuffs. Looked like everyone came out to shopping mall for dinner and hang out. Luckily the food was served in timely manner.

Ambience is great, food is delicious – this means a lot since I’m not a fan of Japanese food. Pictures taken with the newly bought Ixus 105 cause we were lazy to bring DSLR. Didn’t take much pictures of the food cause I was busy eating. :P Mostly because of the dim lighting too, resulting in a bad picture quality = lazy take picture.

Finished with the yummylicious dinner, we walked to the entrance area of the mall. It was 9pm and everyone started to gathered there.

christmas-eve-02

It was getting crowded as the clock hit 11pm. People started to spray the fake snow to each other. So merry, so happy, HO HO HO! The fake snow’s war continued until 1pm, that was when the crowd started to dismiss. Some went back home & trapped in the traffic jam, while some chose to hit the pub. The entrance outside the mall was a total mess as we left the place.

Merry Christmas dear all! :)

Make Time for…

Hubby’s friend is in town for medical check-up and to do a small surgery. His bro and mom are tagging along as well. While waiting for surgery day, they have nothing to do and went to city center for sightseeing & had a one day trip to highland as well, sort of like a mini vacation for them. :P

Then we thought, let’s bring them to shopping malls since they wanted to shop. Ya I know, must be out of our mind already with the piles of work on the table. But we managed to clear off a few and I remember someone saying about : Busy and no time to do this that is just an excuse, make time for whatever you wanna do.

We had lunch first at home and headed to 1Utama around 2pm this afternoon. Continued to Ikea, Ikano and The Curve. We took time to explore the stuffs in Ikea again, can’t get bore of that place. Also learn more about NanoCleanse from a stall as I suddenly have so many acne on my face. We get back home around 9 or 10pm. Dead tiring.

The above picture is the Christmas decoration in 1Utama. Oh so lovely! Anyway, the surgery day is expected to be on this weekend or Monday, all the best to him.

When You’re Stuck, Get Out!

That’s the topic from today’s Sunday service. It hits me so hard cause somewhat answering my situation.

My mood has been swung like hell since the past one week. The first two days I thought it was due to monthly auntie visit and sickness (sore throat and flu) that made me happy for a moment and emotional the next moment.

But it didn’t get better on the third day. I was going deeper in my own negativity thoughts. While my life is great and wonderful (I have a lovely hubby, a job that I love, time flexibility, thoughtful clients, etc), I still feel that it is not good enough, that suddenly everything didn’t go the way I wanted it to be, that everything was against me blablabla. There goes my positive thought and faith. Not the usual me. Even shopping for plant stands and home decor didn’t cheer me up.

The worst thing is, this time I let the negativity to sabotage myself… until today’s Sunday service about what to do when you are stuck. The message hits me and realized, what the f**k has I done to myself? So willing to let myself being stuck in negativity, sabotage ownself, self pity, and not getting out? Not even turn to Him for help? Where is my faith?

Another not less important message is, don’t let other people’s opinion distract you. :)

Uh Oh, I’m getting out from the negative thoughts!
