Many things have happened since the last post. Let’s start with the 4 days trip to Bandung (Indonesia) first.
Before you get jealous cause we traveled again (kidding, not like anyone will
), nah actually we were there for two days WordCamp. First day is for arrival, second and third day for WordCamp, fourth day for departure. No touristy thing this time.

Initially I planned to do some T-shirt and Jeans shopping there. After all, Bandung is famous for factory outlet (and brownies) who knows can get awesome deal like Black Friday promo. But I fell sick on the 3rd day and hubby had sore-throat. Major turn-off! I woke up with body aching and sore-throat. I thought it was small case. But it was getting worse so we went back to hotel after lunch and had to skip the second half of WordCamp.
I had some generic fever medicine bought at mini-mart, took a nap and felt better. In the evening, we decided to go to Paris Van Java with taxi. It was raining on the way there. We were about to arrive when a motorbike suddenly came on our way and BANG! *shock max* Our taxi hit the motorbike, or it should be the other way round. Basically, it’s the motorbike fault.
Somehow there was a policeman nearby and he walked to the accident place. Taxi driver asked us to get down, cause it will be a long process (with the police & the careless motorbike’s owner). So well, we paid the taxi fee and walked to Paris Van Java. Walk under the rain without umbrella.
Back from PVJ, my fever was getting worse. Can’t sleep well throughout the night and had the toughest flight ever, feeling so sick. Definitely couldn’t wait to go back KL so I can seek doctor, where I asked for injection and was given necessary medication. Phew..
Worse trip ever. I also notice that I always fall sick when travelling, either sore-throat or fever. Need to increase the body-immune system.
Feel like it’s yesterday only when we all were in the Christmas and New Year mood and now Chinese New Year is around the corner already! Just 10 days away.
Can’t wait to be home as the last time I went back was post-chinese-new-year last year, which was on March. Missing the food so badly and of course family & friends. Haven’t meet my grandparents and dearest friends for quite some time, since last year March actually. Miss them 100x.
CNY is equal to spending season as well. Buying or baking cakes, cookies, family reunion dinner, red pocket, decoration, buy new kamik rain boots, new dress, blablabla. Almost the same like how western people celebrate Christmas I guess.
Anyway, aside from spending, CNY is also a clear-things-off season (for me). There is an old saying or rather belief: if you owe someone (stuffs, money, etc), please return it before Chinese New Year or else you’ll continue to owe people (financial problem or bad luck) throughout the year, something like that. I guess it gives exception to long term loan like house and car.
I always keep to the saying closely, although I know that it’s just a belief and no real statistic proof whatsoever. But it’s a good practice, can take it as a “cleaning season” once in a year. Now I’m trying to dig my memory of things that I owe people, hmm…
It’s Thaipusam today, a Hindu festival, which means public holidays in West Malaysia but not in the East. Weird how they operate this country huh? Never mind with the different public holiday, citizen of WM can only stays in EM for max 3 months and to process longer stay, they’ll have to go to immigration office just like foreigner. We witnessed one ourselves when we applied for my visa last year.
Anyway, I’m over acne treatments that work for my face. It’s getting better, now I’m just having problem with my hair. These two are the most important thing for me, else the mood will swing like hell. Chinese New Year is 2 weeks away and we usually going to have haircut before CNY.
This year, we’ll spend the first half of CNY period at my hometown and the other half period at hubby’s hometown. Next year, it’s gonna be the other way round. Taking turn to be fair, you know.
That means, next month February we’ll be working remotely. Hopefully the internet speed at my hometown won’t fail us.
Before Chinese New Year, we’ll attend WordCamp Indonesia at Bandung. It’s our first time, can’t wait to meet fellow WordPress enthusiasts, users, developers, etc.
All is well, definitely!
I had quite a bad acne issue back in my teenage time. There goes my self-confidence. But my lovely Dad will try to comfort me by saying, sky isn’t beautiful without stars, something like that. Yea, he was associating my face with sky and the stubborn acne with stars. Not really helping cause acne is definitely not as beautiful as star, but it’s kinds comforting in his own way.
I bid farewell to acne during my second year of college and say hi to acne scar removal for quite some time until I finally can have a free-from-acne-and-scar face. But.. the nightmare is back recently!
Yes, the stubborn acne is back especially around my forehead. I don’t know why and what caused it, I seldom eat oily food, I’m not so much in stress, I don’t have bangs that close my forehead area. So, what can cause it? Ugh. Can you feel my frustration? Sigh.
It sounds like a mutual relationship eh? I’m all fine with helping (you know, I Help You, You Help Me), cause it’s like a basic thing in life. But, it gets on my nerve when the other person never asked if we are free/have time to help him and never have initiative to pay, for example: toll fee (not to say petrol yea).
Time is money especially when you run your own business instead of working with a company. I believe nobody’s money is earned that easily, unless through corrupting and such.
So, how can that fella feel it’s OK to have us become his driver and purposely driving him until a shopping mall (not near, okay?) & so-called-nearest-train-station which isn’t near at all consider we seldom drive that far on daily basis, while there is a public bus if you walked outside the housing area – can take it as exercise and fat burners maybe? Not just one day, but five freaking days.
Ok, put aside the petrol and time issue, we can earn that back after all. I just feel that it’s so impolite to do so and unfair. No understanding, no consideration, no responsibility, not even a word of asking. You are working adult for God sake, not poor college student.
Never mind, at least now I can see clearly what type of person he/she is. Can buy expensive phone from time to time, but avoid paying for taxi/petrol/toll fee when on holiday. Great way to save huh? *sarcastic mode on*
