I crave for a spicy meal constantly. Since there is no nasi padang here in Malaysia, I opt for nasi lemak Malaysian style which is quite different from what we have back in Indonesia.
The usual style of Malaysia nasi lemak comes with: rice cooks with coconut cream (we didn’t use the cream), small dried anchovies /ikan bilis, roasted peanuts, hard boiled egg, hot spicy sauce/sambal and cucumber slices. Easy to cook.
For the sambal, we use the can’s prawn sauce/sambal udang from Yeo’s. We added in cuttlefish (cooked spicy) as the companion dish.
Oh so yummy! Just need to buy banana leaf and put everything on top of it to get the full experience of eating nasi lemak at home.

Erm, it’s quite a cheat version of making nasi lemak (using premade sambal), but I’ll try to post the recipe and maybe with the ingredients picture
