Sunday The Rest Day

We have learn to apply that Sunday is a no working day. Just rest and relax at home. So I’m using it for me time or ours, which include doing laundry, hair/facial mask, movie marathon, and oh shopping isn’t in the list. Hate going to the mall on Sunday, oh so crowded and hard to find parking lot. Also *cough* parking ticket is double the weekday price.

Well, it’s a movie day for me, as in marathon watching a new Taiwan Idol Drama “Love Recipe”.

For lunch we had PizzaHut delivery, which we ordered online. How convenient! In this era we not only can shop for electric mattress pad but also pizza! Not that calling the hotline isn’t convenient enough, I was actually aiming for the buy-one-get-one-free promotion for online order, but didn’t know how to get that. Oh well, try next time.

I’ve been busy living the best out of my life lately. When I’m not doing clients’ projects, you can find me working on our own projects. Aside from projects, there is house chore, grocery shopping, coffee time chit-chatting with dearest husband, watch Taiwan idol dramas, go to the mall, car washing, fetch friend from the airport, and whats not.

Now that I have a chance to blog, I realize we’ve passed mid October. Wow, Mr. Time, can you please slow down a bit?

Anyway, foodie pictures time, which I dig from my pic folders over the years. Cause recently I’ve been thinking and craving for my hometown’s food; ateng kwetiau which isn’t oily and dark like what they have in KL, a real big size of delicious coconut drink, sate padang, nasi padang, etc.

The grass is always greener on the other side. The plus size maternity clothes or other fashion stuffs in KL might be ‘greener’ (read: better) than in Medan. But no matter how better KL is compare to Medan, it won’t win on the culinary part (to me). Nothing beats hometown food.

Of IKEA Meatballs

Everyone says IKEA swedish meatballs meal is good, a must try if you go to the store. We never bothered to try it until our latest visit to IKEA on last week. Despite being weekday and passed lunch time, the food court was still packed with people.

Hubby and I have no idea about the meatball size so we ordered two plates with 10 meatballs per plate (~~RM10~~ RM8 cause there is discount on Tuesday ) and a vegetarian pasta, cause we were so hungry.

When we saw the meatball size, we looked at each other and said: Eh so small one, enough or not? Then we went to find empty table, found one with a left-over of 2 – 3 meatballs. I told hubby how can the person not finish it all, ckckck.. So basically I was so confident that I can finish all of the 10 meatballs myself.

But heh… guess I underestimated the small meatball. On his 5th meatball, hubby already felt unease and quite full. Me? I felt that on my 3rd meatball. Ended up I left 3 or so. Should have just ordered a plate and a pasta for the two of us.

As for the taste, it’s not my liking. My taste bud still prefer the meatball being cooked in soup just like the one back in my hometown, oh so yummy~!

Morning meal

My typical breakfast is bread loaf with chocolate sprinkle / kaya / tuna spread / chocolate Nutella / scramble egg / whatever topping that you can think of, plus a cup of hot Milo or Oatmeal. I’ll have the bread while checking my email, facebook, twitter before starting with the real work.

On a more relaxing day where there is no urgent deadline or piles of work, we’ll go to mamak stall for breakfast. Roti Pisang with sambal – I dislike the curry – along with a cup of Teh Tarik (literally translated as pulled tea). Eating while seeing the activities around and overheard the people on the table next to us talking about diet pills that work or politics.

I’m a breakfast person, can’t skip it or this brain will refuse to stay focus and work well.

Christmas Eve Dinner

We had a dinner together with hubby’s friend & wife and and the friend whom came here to do a small surgery & his Mom. Pick Sushi Zanmai, a Japanese restaurant at Sunway Pyramid as our dinner place. What a long queue there, we even have time to look for bushnell spotting scope and other stuffs. Looked like everyone came out to shopping mall for dinner and hang out. Luckily the food was served in timely manner.

Ambience is great, food is delicious – this means a lot since I’m not a fan of Japanese food. Pictures taken with the newly bought Ixus 105 cause we were lazy to bring DSLR. Didn’t take much pictures of the food cause I was busy eating. Mostly because of the dim lighting too, resulting in a bad picture quality = lazy take picture.

Finished with the yummylicious dinner, we walked to the entrance area of the mall. It was 9pm and everyone started to gathered there.

It was getting crowded as the clock hit 11pm. People started to spray the fake snow to each other. So merry, so happy, HO HO HO! The fake snow’s war continued until 1pm, that was when the crowd started to dismiss. Some went back home & trapped in the traffic jam, while some chose to hit the pub. The entrance outside the mall was a total mess as we left the place.
