Had dinner together with the girls last night at Gelato Bar. Since I had a bad experience with the spaghetti & pasta, plain Bolognaise and awful creamy mushroom, I went for the chicken steak with mushroom sauce and French Fries. Quite oily, might need lipo6 black to burn the fat around my tummy now, else cannot wear beach wear for the upcoming island trip.

It tasted not bad, but the food turn cold so fast although I just left it there for 10 minutes, thanks to the super Air-con. I couldn’t finish the French Fries, cause of the large portion (for me) which was like.. the L package in McDonald’s. Heh, normally boyfriend will be the one to help me finishes the French Fries (M).
I didn’t only waste the French Fries but also the carrots, corns, and two pieces vege. Tell me how to eat the corn with knife and fork? Besides, the corn doesn’t match with the steak. Put broccoli instead la.

No, I’m not that short but I bend down, that’s why
The best thing of the night was the huge mirror next to us. Made us alot easier in taking group pictures without the need to ask for the waiter’s help only to get a blurry picture at the end of the day, cause either the waiter has no skill in taking picture without using flash or he is too nervous facing pretty women hence the hand is shaky. *cough cough*
Oh I almost forget, one more best thing.. there is 20% discount for UOB credit card’s user.
Besides chicken rice ball in Melaka, there is one place that I die die also must go which is Full House, a Lifestyle Store & Cafe in NZX Ara Damansara.

NZX stands for ???- Niu Ze Xui, don’t ask why the 2nd word is read as Ze instead of Che. Literally translated as Cow Car Water, an open air shopping area with roof covering it up. Sort of like Multatuli area in Medan except that NZX is so much nicer. People said that it is the imitation of Chinatown in Singapore. Whatever.
I’ve read about Full House, open in 2008 if I not mistaken, from several blogs and the pictures of super beautiful white interior really caught my attention. That’s why die die also must visit it this time although we (boyfriend and I) are not familiar with PJ and Damansara area, wtf is Ara Damansara huh?

How we were lost 3 times while looking for NZX
So, based on a little direction from his colleague, we started the journey of finding the hidden gem, Full House, on last Sunday night. First, we made a turn after the St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Kelana Jaya, based on the little direction from his colleague, and landed in some unfamiliar place with no sign of NZX. We tried to make a way back to Kelana Jaya, managed to get some direction from friend (Thanks Max!), and found out that we should turn left after the medical center or before the church.
So, here we went with second attempt, made the correct turn, followed the tunnel, came into housing area in which we were lost again. Drove to we-don’t-know-where-it-was and suddenly there was a freaking toll with no U-turn! wtf, gimme a Ctrl+Z can? And we followed the flow, saw ‘Petaling Jaya’ and ‘Damansara’ on the sign board, came out from the toll (thanks G it was only RM1), saw an unfamiliar place again but he just drove following the sign board. We were so damn relieved when we finally saw that it was the road to Kelana Jaya. Woohoo!
Third attempt, we went through the same route like in second attempt, went straight in the housing area, turn left on the junction there, and found out that we were in the same place like the second attempt (before we proceed to toll). Wtf? Super duper frustrating can? Made a phone call again for direction (Thanks C&M!
) and somewhat realized that we should turn right instead of left at junction there. We went all the way, came across rows of flats and apartments, wondering how could a shopping/hang out place located so deep inside resident area and did we just lost again. Soon we saw the NZX sign board and were showered with joy. Finally!
It took us 1 1/2 hour and 3 times lost to get to NZX, which is located somewhere inside the rows of flats and apartments. A hidden gem indeed. They might have lost two customers if we weren’t that determined to visit Full House. Really, no wonder the place is not so crowded and many shops have closed down or not yet opened. Overall, it was a pretty frustrating journey but amazingly, boyfriend was patient enough to try for the 3rd time and not scolding me.

Everything is white in Full House
We were oh so hungry, so we rushed into Full House as soon as we arrived. The ambience is very nice indeed, but the cafe is not as large as what I imagine. Besides serving foods, Full House also sells clothes, accessories, shoes, cutie stuffs, etc. The concept is like Gudang Stock in Medan but thousand times better and nicer. A great place for hanging out with the girls and take endless pictures.
Not so great for paktor-ing place.

We had fried chicken chop, quite nice, and spaghetti with 4 shrimp, RM17++, not worthy cause of the small portion and boyfriend said it tasted like Char Mee Hun. lol. And wtf with the leaves on top of the spaghetti?

Had chocolate ice blended something like that and some vanilla coconut ice. Both taste nice.
I just have one complain which is the menu book. It was torn here and there, 100 times worse than the menu book in Gelato Bar (Medan). As if it was bitten by some hungry mice. Euy.. Can’t they print new menu books and throw away the old one?

I know, it looks blur. But whatever, must put our picture, that’s it.
I might pay a visit to Full House again in the future. Not for dinner but lunch since they have lunch set and I suppose the place will be less crowded during weekday lunch time? Which means I can take more pictures of the ambience and myself.
Initially, Mum planned to go to Brastagi Highland but canceled it due to some reason. We headed off to Pantai Cermin instead, for the seafood. Oh my.. seafood *big smile*
So, there we went to this place which is about 60 minutes away from Medan, hot and not-so-green-place where you won’t find the unique Mulberry trees. Just to have the yummylicious-and-not-so-expensive-seafood. We have prawns, crabs, fishes, and squids for 6 people. The bill was at IDR.218.XXX only.

Seeing the seafood, Mum can’t help but to think of my boyfriend whom loves to eat seafood so much. If only he was here too…

After that, we went to the nearest beach for the sake of digesting the food and sightseeing.

After walking around, I still didn’t get it. What is so much fun and interesting from this dirty beach with brownish color of water huh? All you can do is just – I splash you with the water and you splash me back. You only get… wet and darker at the end of the day. Boring.

This goat came out of nowhere.

Me and bro. A picture to claim that we were here.
And, that was my 3rd day of Chinese New Year. It’s time to go back to work tomorrow.
After a day of staying at home and indulging myself with Korean drama, I went out to Sun Plaza with my parents and bro.

My all-time-stingy-bro decided to treat us for dinner at Sapo Oriental restaurant. Seems that he has received not little amount of red pocket (read: money).

It was our first time ever dining at this oriental restaurant.

The first dish, a soup which I have forgotten the name.

Fish with Thailand sauce (something like that). It tasted somewhat like sweet and sour fish, except that it was oh-so-sour.

The pekking duck (1/4 only). Oh so yummy! iLike duck meat so much compare to chicken meat.

This one is… kungpao chicken if I not mistaken. I’m not good in remembering food’s name. Just eat and enjoy it, that’s it.

The fried squid. Not crispy at all. Two thumbs down for this.
Total 5 dishes and the bill was at IDR.333.XXX. Pretty expensive for 4 people and the portion was quite small. But well, we are talking about 5 dishes and almost all of the dishes is yummylicious, except the fried squid.
Plan for tomorrow: go to Brastagi Highland with family. Fresh air and cool weather, here I come!

When others went to church for praying and Christmas celebration, I went to Gelato Bar with the girls last night. It was supposed to be a dinner but thanks to the lousy and bad service, it became a supper. The foods came at 8pm something, almost 9pm, what the tuttt..

Nothing special with the foods. I don’t know, maybe because the boyfriend and I only ordered spaghetti (Bolognaise and the above plain creamy mushroom). It was IDR.45.000 for a plate of spaghetti, pretty expensive for me as it tasted awful (Pizza Hut has a better spaghetti) and I couldn’t find a bottle of chili sauce. What the tutt.. How to eat without chili sauce ah?

Ambience wise, nothing special too. I like the mirror but I think they have too much mirror and I hate green. What with having green and red side by side? I know, it looks oh so Christmas but can’t they go for orange and red? And, they should have changed their menu book. It looked like kiam chai and as if it has been used for more than a year, while the place has just opened for not so long. But, umm, maybe I can propose a new menu design for Gelato Bar? Well, doing design and printing could be my another small business opportunities eh?

Despite the bad service and not so delicious food, we still have the mood to take picture. We were so not colorful at that night. Black and grey blouses, ugh.

Boyfriend was there too. It’s been a week since he came here. I’ve been slowing down in working field. Time to give myself some rest and have a good quality time with him and trying to replace and fill the gap cause we haven’t seen each other for 3 and 1/2 months.
Anyway, Merry Christmas 2008~! And happy holiday.
