Oh my.. It feels so good to be away from computer, internet and work. My hands get to rest from clicking and typing. My eyes and my back get to rest too. Not to forget my mind. I can put aside the research about diet pills like Fentraphen for a while. I went out whole day with my family and the highlight of today is Pantai Cermin (translation: Mirror Beach). Let’s see where have I gone to:
1. Had a breakfast at Cemara Asri complex and had a mini driving test (with my Dad as the examiner :P) in the housing area. Passed by the Maha Maitreya temple and saw that there was a rehearsal going on. The grand opening ceremony of this temple will be held in this few days.

2. Finally after 22 years, I get the chance to go to Pantai Cermin (translation: Mirror Beach) town, which is about 1 hour from Medan city. There is so many beach and we choose to go to Pantai Gudang Garam first. Don’t expect to see ladies in bikini or blueish ocean, cause there is none. We just sit there, drink the coconut water, eat some satay and take pictures of the brownish ocean/beach/whatever it is.

3. Since the restaurant at Pantai Gudang Garam doesn’t have so many varieties of foods and the price is freaking expensive, we decide to go to the nearby restaurant where my parents used to go. The place is crowded with people and we wait for freaking 2 hours for the seafood. -___-”

4. After that, went to Pantai Cermin next to the Pantai Cermin Theme Park. People always says that Pantai Cermin is so dirty and I thought it is just the past story. But today I get to see it with my own eyes. The place is not fun at all.

I missed out the 3.30pm Singapore drama (Kinship II) at Astro. Duh.. But, it’s a relaxing day after all. I’m fully charged to do my work tomorrow.

Boo! After reading about the grandfinal night here and there, I am glad that I didn’t waste my sleeping time to watch the freaking 3 hours pageant show. I switched the channel to Indosiar at 10pm (the show started at 8pm) and it was still about the gown night thing I guess.

Newly-crowned Miss Indonesia 2008 Zivanna Letisha Siregar (left) and Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela (right). Picture taken from newshopper.sulekha.com
The winner goes to Zivanna Letisha Siregar, 19 years old from Jakarta. Runner-up I goes to Ayu Diandra Sari from Bali. Runner-up II goes to Anggi Mahesti from Jogjakarta.

The public favorite, Raline Rahmat Shah, Miss North Sumatra 2008, has to be satisfied at the 4th place. I read that it was her answers during the Q&A session (for the top5) that cause her not to get in the top 3. *dissapointed* Seeing Raline’s criteria, I thought she will at least go in the top three. But in the end, the crown goes to Jakarta again. Duh..
Anyway, read from somewhere that Raline Rahmat Shah used to date TI, Tunku Ismail Ibrahim, the prince of Johor, Malaysia! Oh well, she comes from the upper society and study at NUS before, so this shouldn’t be an oh-so-surprise news. Alright, let’s don’t gossiping. *zip mouth*

I just finish reading the woman tabloid, Wanita Indonesia. There is one message from the reader that catch my attention. I’ll type the message’s content with the title ‘Mimpi Cinta Laura‘ - Cinta Laura’s dream:
Hai WI, Cinta Laura pengin Go International seperti Agnes Monica? Cinta Laura ambisi banget pengin jadi aktris Hollywood.
Translation:
Cinta Laura wanna go international like Agnes Monica? Cinta Laura is so ambitious to be a Hollywood actress. Like it is so easy to be an actress in Hollywood? Just go to USA and there you go, the Hollywood actress. Hehe.. To be an actress in Hollywood isn’t easy because the competition is very tight over there, girl. Does Cinta Laura realize that her acting and singing skill is just so-so/pass? A new instant artist who received 1 awards only, has been so eager to go international.
Nowadays, I don’t follow Indonesian artists’ news anymore. But I know that Cinta Laura, 15 years old, is a new actress on the board. She is a mixture of Indonesia and Germany, stayed overseas for quite sometimes, hence her Indonesia language is a bit western-ish (the way she pronounces the words). I saw her acting in local drama (Cinderella) before and I have to admit that her acting is just so-so, typical new comer.

Picture of Cinta Laura, taken from kapanlagi.com
Come back to the reader’s message, I am so disagree with the thinking. So what is Cinta Laura is a new comer with an average acting skill? Does that means she can’t have a big dream? In this case, to be a Hollywood actress. Does that means she can’t improve her acting and singing skill?
This is the problem that most of the people has, that they can do this only and they cannot do that. Therefore, they limit themselves to reach out. They limit their dream. Hello? If you don’t push yourselves, how do you know where is your limit? There is no harm to keep trying and pushing yourselves to do the best. Set a goal, work hard to reach it, believe in yourself, and you will eventually get it. Go get yourselves a DVD of Secrets movie. Spend 2 hours to watch and digest the message.
Gosh. Now I know why Indonesia is so under-developed and few steps behind other countries. Because there is people like the-writer-of-Cinta-Laura’s-dream whom doesn’t dare to dream big and limit themselves. They even laugh at other people’s dream. Bah, they will be forever in their tiny square box.

Waisak / Wesak / Vesak Day falls on next tuesday. Several temples already held some events to celebrate it like Maitreya temple at Gandhi street.

It is the same event like last year. A bazaar (charity) where people sells foods & other stuffs and we will need to buy coupons.

The charity fund will be used to continue the building of Maitreya temple.

The place is as crowded as last year.

It was very hot inside. The sweat couldn’t stop falling down from my forehead. Just take a look at that small fans. They should have used bigger one that sprays some water.

It was too hot and too crowded, I bought nothing. I went there just to bath the Buddha statue and gave an angpow. The above picture is not me though.

It is extremely hot in both day time and night time. As if there is no wind~! To make thing worse, the black out season is back again.

When I was doing work on my computer, suddenly it went blank. When I was watching the Singapore drama on Astro, suddenly it was off. When I was taking the warm shower, the water suddenly became cold. I thought I’ll need a new tankless water heater. When I was having dinner, it suddenly became so dark and I had candle light dinner.
It is all so SUDDEN! PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara) doesn’t even give what so ever explanation or warning on the newspaper. Let us know which tower is broken down again or what kind of maintenance is going on now?

The normal price for sms in Indonesia used to be IDR.350. SMS to overseas is at IDR.600. So the accountant side of me always make full used of it and type until 160 characters.
But nowadays, the competition between the mobile operators is getting tight. So the sms price for Simpati (Telkomsel) has dropped to IDR.100. The other CDMA operator even gives 5 free sms if we send 1 sms. Every operator fights to give the lowest sms and call rate. I couldn’t catch up with it anymore, so I stick to Simpati for the quality (better line).

Recently, Esia (CDMA operator) came out with ‘pay for what you use‘ sms service. It is IDR.1 per character.

If we type ‘OK’, other GSM operator will charge, let’s take the standard price, IDR.350. While Esia only charge IDR.2. This is so damn fair! It is about the same with Airasia regarding the baggage fee.
SMS and call rate for local has getting cheaper and cheaper. But, the sms price to overseas doesn’t even move 1 Rupiah. -___-”
