CSS and XHTML validation

After finish the design and code for this ‘Miss Pinkie’ theme, I asked the boyfriend to check the CSS and XHTML validation for this theme.

css-validate

This theme pass the CSS validation. Horay! Now, it is the XHTML turn.

xhtml-validate-error

It turn out to be not validated with 5 errors. What? Not validate? Got 5 errors some more? How could it be?

error-entrecard-script

The boyfriend checked the errors and turn out that all the 5 errors is coming from the entrecard script. -__-” Nothing can be done unless I take out the entrecard widget. Or somebody out there knows how to settle this problem?

Oh well, actually whether this theme passes the CSS and XHTML validation or not is not a big deal. Cause I am using it for my own blog and not gonna submit it as a free theme to be downloaded at wordpress theme viewer.

Hokay, forget about seeing the green mark from XHTML validation. I shall get back to my green Idul Fitri design for greeting card. Faster finish, faster get approval, and faster get the money. :P

My Old Laptop

laptop_memory

My old Acer laptop is running on 512MB memory only. It was running so smooth back then, which was more than 3 years ago. The laptop is an old lady now. After several upgrade and install more software, this laptop need more memory obviously. I have tried a lot of software to know more about how my laptop consume it laptop memory.

SmartRAM

This is the screenshot when I was just turned on my laptop. It has consumed half the memory already without running any program. Imagine if I am working with FireFox, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Wah, I can bang my head to the wall by then. The boyfriend did bring a 1GB memory here, hoping that he could upgrade my laptop to a better one. But too bad, it doesn’t match. Sigh.

Oh well, I don’t think this ‘old lady’ will last long lo. But, whatever, use it while can. :P

How a computer affected my life

My 3 years old Acer Travelmate runs at 512MB. As it is getting older, I am having a hard time running Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Windows media player at the same time. If I open 2 programs together, it works very slow like an old granny at a marathon run. A four hours Photoshop work has become an eight hours work. I become grumpy and the unwelcome-wrinkles comes out.

It is a relief when I got my Dell Inspiron 530 a month ago. Although it is only Dual Core and the computer memory is just 1GB, but it is good enough to run Adobe software and listen to mp3 at the same time. Good performance of the computer resulting in good mood. Good mood means can produce better design work (and finish in a short time) and blog more. The end result is, more $ money $ comes in which means better life. :P

Trial : increasing Alexa rank

I tried and it works! Let’s flash back.

I stumbled upon Doshdosh article about ’20 Quick Ways to Increase Your Alexa Rank’. The post is one year old already so some of the tips might not work now. But, whatever, I won’t know if I don’t try.

So I took the very basic tips which is to install the Alexa toolbar on my Firefox and set my blog as the homepage. I used ‘SearchStatus 1.24′ that not only display Alexa rank but also Google Page Rank. And I still keep my google toolbar, to double check the PR. :P Next, put up Alexa Rank widget on my blog and put aside the other 18 tips. :P

Alexa-rank

It was said that Alexa rank will change in 3-4 days. So, I post like usual and traffic is quite good. After waiting, today I see the Alexa rank has increased from 3.000.XXX to 1.924.930. Total increase 1,701,603 in 3-4 days time. ;)

Some said Alexa has changed the calculation system. Another one said this tips will work if your rank is still in the million number. And so on so on. Bleh, whatever, read too much can confuse myself.

After all, I just want to prove the tips. It seems to be quite fun. *Back to work*

PC Fair – 3 years ago and now

3 years ago, 2005, I bought my Acer travelmate laptop at Sunway Pyramid, without any accessories; i.e. mouse, laptop bag, laptop cooler, flash disk, etc. Not long after that, PC Fair came with so many promotions and cheaper price of course. -__-”

Dell-set

3 years later which is 3 weeks ago, I bought Dell PC (inspiron 530) from one of the Dell dealer in Medan. It came in a complete set; keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, and speaker. Then, here come NIX’08 – National IT Expo 2008, from 6 – 11 May, at Sun Plaza. -__-”

Why the PC Fair always comes after I bought the computer? Better don’t go and check the price, else I might faint down if it is cheaper than what I paid. Or maybe there is free gifts for buying computer; i.e. printers or flash disk or free RAM.
