Job title does matter?

“What is your job?” – this is the almighty question that people always throws to me. The freelance designer answer won’t satisfy them. If I tell them I earn money through blogging, they will just laugh. Either they think it is mission impossible (I am crazy) or it has no future (I am stupid). Excuse me, I’m a smart woman and I won’t do something that has no benefit for me. I will jump into futures broker if it does has a wow-ing benefit.

These people are weird. When I told them I was working in a company as a designer with such a low salary, they didn’t mind. But when I told them I work at home as a freelance designer, they seems to be mind. As if freelance is not a real work or not for long term. Which bring me to the thought, is it the job title that matters?

Hey, a job title is just a name that determines somebody’s position in the company. Someone, whose job is offering illegal unsecured loans at high interest rates to individuals, is called a loan shark a.k.a Ah Long. In a better words, loan shark can also be called as Finance Manager. (refer to the dialogs in Like Father Like Daughter – Singapore drama). But the job scope is just the same.

Ah whatever la. I’m happy with my WAH (Work At Home) status.

PC Fair – 3 years ago and now

3 years ago, 2005, I bought my Acer travelmate laptop at Sunway Pyramid, without any accessories; i.e. mouse, laptop bag, laptop cooler, flash disk, etc. Not long after that, PC Fair came with so many promotions and cheaper price of course. -__-”

3 years later which is 3 weeks ago, I bought Dell PC (inspiron 530) from one of the Dell dealer in Medan. It came in a complete set; keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, and speaker. Then, here come NIX’08 – National IT Expo 2008, from 6 – 11 May, at Sun Plaza. -__-”

Why the PC Fair always comes after I bought the computer? Better don’t go and check the price, else I might faint down if it is cheaper than what I paid. Or maybe there is free gifts for buying computer; i.e. printers or flash disk or free RAM.

Hotels in Medan

The hotels business in Medan seems to be very good. There is always new hotels coming up, be it the small or the big one. While the old hotels will re-paint their buildings and improve their service, so they won’t lose to the new comer. Most of the hotels aim the business people, whether they come from outstation or overseas.

All the while Grand Angkasa Hotel is the one and only 5 stars hotel in Medan. Not until last year when The Aryaduta Hotel and JW Marriott came to this town.

Well, I used have the dream to own and manage a hotel. Perhaps it was an influence from Hotelier (Korean drama). Not interested in DeWalt tools but managing the place seems to be pretty interesting.

LRT to Sunway Pyramid

Sunway Pyramid (Malaysia) is a huge shopping complex, a tourist destination, and it has Sunway Lagoon and hotels at the other side. Such a happening place, we should be able to reach there by train; be it LRT, KTM, Monorail, you name it.

I mean, it is so far from KL city and other places, having a train like LRT or monorail will be better and faster than bus. Waiting for bus is so terrible horrible vegetable. The bus can come in a few minutes time or even after 1 hour waiting. kns.

Say until chui ta also the LRT won’t stop in front of Sunway Pyramid. The nearest LRT station is Kelana Jaya (the last station) and KTM Subang. From Kelana Jaya, we gotta take the RapidKL T623 to Sunway Pyramid. It is just RM1 for one day use.

Last year, there was news that the government planned to expand the line. But I think the budgeting and planning didn’t go well, therefore it was canceled.

I’m still waiting for the day when Malaysia government will expand LRT line to Sunway and Puchong.

Annoying phone call

Recently there is a weirdo that keeps on calling to my home. Since our phone has an ID track, we knows where does the call came from. It started with 021, which is Jakarta code.

He keeps on asking about Mrs.XXX, the previous owner of this house that has moved to Jakarta 2 years ago. We told him the fact and he didn’t believe it. I tried, mum tried. He said we lie, insist us to ask Mrs.XXX talks to him, started to talk in a very rude way, and said the zoo words.

I don’t know what kind of grudge or problems that he has with Mrs.XXX. But he has gone too far with his call and his words. Not only stubborn but also brainless. This kind of people who says they don’t eat pig but they insert pig in their words and think like a pig. He said he didn’t need airplane, he could come here by riding a pig. -__-” Stupid, come if he dares. I’ll welcome him with motion sensor lights.

But, the world becomes more colorful because of them.

It is May

Start something from zero is never an easy thing. Not to say making it into a ‘hero’. But when there is an improvement, the hard work has paid off. And I always love to see improvement. Let’s see last month ‘Business valuation‘, I mean evaluation.

This blog has 1k plus visits for April, compare to the previous months which is always about 300-400. Most of the traffic came from the search engine. iHappy!

Both of my blogspot blogs that are few weeks old, Medan Daily and Si Cabe Rawit, got their first organic traffic (that came from the search engine) today. iDoubleHappy!

Myth or fact: Milk helps sleep

I often heard and read that milk helps sleep. Therefore it is good to consume a glass of milk before sleep. It becomes a mindset that drink milk = have a good sleep. All because milk contains melatonin, a hormone that helps us to relax, although the percentage of the melatonin is not much.

Since last few weeks I have started to drink milk before the bed time. It was cream milk in box – Dutch lady and now it is chocolate Ultramilk. I didn’t start this habit hoping that I will have a good sleep after drink milk. It’s because of my mum.

Anyway, after weeks of drinking milk before bedtime, I don’t feel any improvement in getting a good sleep. I am sleepy but my head is full with thoughts and worry. I cannot relax at all. Every night there is always something for me to think and worry about. No, not about exterior shutters.

Perhaps I shall try sleeping with lotsa money in the pillow to solve my sleeping problem. Before that, I will need to rob the bank first. -__-”
