Oh my.. It feels so good to be away from computer, internet and work. My hands get to rest from clicking and typing. My eyes and my back get to rest too. Not to forget my mind. I can put aside the research about diet pills like Fentraphen for a while. I went out whole day with my family and the highlight of today is Pantai Cermin (translation: Mirror Beach). Let’s see where have I gone to:
1. Had a breakfast at Cemara Asri complex and had a mini driving test (with my Dad as the examiner :P) in the housing area. Passed by the Maha Maitreya temple and saw that there was a rehearsal going on. The grand opening ceremony of this temple will be held in this few days.

2. Finally after 22 years, I get the chance to go to Pantai Cermin (translation: Mirror Beach) town, which is about 1 hour from Medan city. There is so many beach and we choose to go to Pantai Gudang Garam first. Don’t expect to see ladies in bikini or blueish ocean, cause there is none. We just sit there, drink the coconut water, eat some satay and take pictures of the brownish ocean/beach/whatever it is.

3. Since the restaurant at Pantai Gudang Garam doesn’t have so many varieties of foods and the price is freaking expensive, we decide to go to the nearby restaurant where my parents used to go. The place is crowded with people and we wait for freaking 2 hours for the seafood. -___-”

4. After that, went to Pantai Cermin next to the Pantai Cermin Theme Park. People always says that Pantai Cermin is so dirty and I thought it is just the past story. But today I get to see it with my own eyes. The place is not fun at all.

I missed out the 3.30pm Singapore drama (Kinship II) at Astro. Duh.. But, it’s a relaxing day after all. I’m fully charged to do my work tomorrow.

The beloved low cost fare Airasia, has coming out with a new promo again. This time it is about Shop til you drop. The travel destination including shopping heaven: Bangkok, Hongkong, Singapore, and Shenzhen. The price ranges from RM3 to RM90.

Booking Period (for public) : 15 Jul 2008 - 20 Jul 2008. Travel Period : 25 Aug 2008 - 13 Nov 2008. The member of Airasia-Citibank card has the privilege to book the seats 1 day ahead of the public.
I spotted the RM3 flight from Medan to KL and the return ticket for end of August. Total tickets + baggage + insurance costs me IDR.700.000. Consider cheap. By then, the mid year sale should be ended already. Or else, I could fill the moving boxes with the shopping spree. But never mind, as long as I can spend time with him. I’ll take this as an early holiday cause I’ll be busy until earlier next year.

Good news for Medanese. Now we don’t need to take a 2 hours flight to Jakarta for a roller coaster ride at Dufan (Dunia Fantasi). Cause we have a new theme park, Hill Park Sibolangit, that is located up hill in Sibolangit, about 1 hours ride from Medan. It is planned to be the largest theme park in Sumatra island.

I went there with the family on last wednesday. Hah! That’s the joy of being a WAH woman, I can travel on the weekday.
We rent a car with a driver cause my dad was not around. The journey was smooth with a little bit of traffic jam.

The entrance ticket is at IDR.12.000 per person. The theme park is divided into 3 section; The Lost World with a lot of rides, Toon Town for kids, and some Hill park castle (I forget the name :P). The water park section is still under development. Oh, I can’t wait for it to be finished.

Anyway, each ride cost us IDR.10.000 to IDR.12.000. Imagine if you wanna take all of the ride, IDR.100.000 is not enough. That is only for 1 person, imagine if someone brings 3 kids. How expensive it will be. I hope it will use “the entrance ticket + all ride” system like Dufan or Sunway Lagoon.

I think the all-time-favourite-ride in Hill Park is the roller coaster called Gelegar. The roller coaster was build in a not so large ground with a complicated rails. I had no balls to take a ride on it since it was new and the scene in Final Destination 3 kept playing in my mind.

Kincir Raksasa (Giant wheel) became our choice. The 3 of us thought that the ride would be less scary than roller coaster. But no! When we were up there, none of us dare to look around or even moved the body. Err, except the boyfriend I guess. I tried so hard to kill the height fear because the scenery was oh so beautiful~! When I started to get used to it, we had reached the ground already. What? IDR.12.000 for only 1 round - 360 degree turning? It should be at least twice.

From The Lost World, we continued to explore the Toon Town where all things were so cute and colorful. There is an artificial tree house too. It is free for the first 2 ride. After that, you will need to pay.

Then, we saw the mini petting zoo where I accidentally splashed my white pants with the mud. -___-” The mini petting zoo is filled with various type of chickens, ducks, rabbit, horse, goat, and mouse deer. It is quite secial for city people like us.

The next destination is the indoor games at the castle. The place is used to be a casino hence the interior is a bit grand.
We spend about 3 to 4 hours in the Hill Park. The crowd came after lunch time when we were about to leave the park.

Oh man, it was so scary. I just checked the Airasia flight from Medan to Jakarta for my auntie. The flight is for next week. She has chosen the date and was fine with the price. I thought I would book it after having my lunch. Stomach was growling.
“Will the price go down after you have your lunch? If that is the case, then take your time,”she said (kidding tone). Oh well, to have Airasia price suddenly goes down is a day dream. But, who knows, miracle might happen.
30 minutes after that, I checked the price again. And you know what… It has raised as much as IDR.100.000 per seat. *faint down* Just how fast the price has changed. It is faster than the result of taking Phentermine without a prescription. I wonder maybe Airasia has a tracking thing. They know that is the flight that I wanna book, therefore they raise the price. Hmm.. who knows.
Another lesson to learn, book immediately if you wanna fly with Airasia. The price fluctuates so fast that even 1 second counts.

It was a great weekend getaway. The initial plan is to have a one day trip to Brastagi Highland and places around it. From 7 people, we settled down to 4 people. Cause the car rental with driver was too expensive for some of them.
But something happened few hours before the departure. One of the friends’ grandma passed away so she couldn’t join us. We have booked the car rental and couldn’t cancel it. So, there we went, just the three of us. This is my very first time going there in such a small group of friends. I must be outta my mind already.
We sticked to the initial plan and took off from Medan at 6.45am. It took approximately 2 hours journey. We stopped at the corn stall to grab a few bites of the corn and enjoyed the fresh air. The weather wasn’t so friendly yesterday. It kept on rain and stop for the whole day.

After that, we continued the journey to Grand Mutiara Hotel. Jan wanted to have the Pisang goreng madu - fried banana with honey. We thought that they didn’t have it for breakfast, but nope. So there we went, having our most expensive fried banana ever. 1 plate for IDR.15.000, excluded 10% tax. I never know that Grand Mutiara Hotel serves such a crispy banana. The overcharged price was worthy.

Three girls, beautiful scenery, plenty of free time, and 4 digicams. What a perfect day to take pictures! After the breakfast, chat, and pictures, we went to Mikie Holiday, Tongging, and SiPiso Piso.

Meet Canon and Lumix.
We took pictures everywhere we went.

Started with one person picture

Continued with 2 persons

The three of us

at the swimming pool

at the playground
Notice there is a few pictures with the 3 of us? Wondering who was so kind to help us to take those pictures? Alright, I’ll share the secret. It is courtesy of self timer (10 seconds) and the poles + chairs~!

That is how we set the digicam for the 3 poles picture. I’m so proud of my friends. They are the creative accountants ever.
Total usage for the trip is IDR.242.000 per person, consists of transportation, breakfast, lunch, and miscellaneous fee (parking fee and entrance fee). Consider expensive for a day trip. But, once in a while is fine.

The weather in Medan is so hot and pollution is everywhere. How great it is if I could have a break from a crowded noisy city to a beautiful sandy beaches. Hilton Head South Carolina seems to be a perfect holiday destination.

I can imagine myself attending the golf and tennis course with the boyfriend, shopping at Porcupine that carries the latest trends, indulge myself with spa and have a romantic dining. What a perfect scenario!
It offers various accommodation from hilton head home rentals to hilton head condo rentals. We can check the accommodation by the date, the bedroom and the location through islandgetaway.com. Each of the properties is fully furnished. So we don’t need to bring towels, hair dryer, iron, etc.

There is also homes for rent in hilton head. It is the best choice over hotels if we go in a group or a big family. We can have a barbeque and gathering at the same time.
I don’t want to wake up from this dream.

Sunway Pyramid (Malaysia) is a huge shopping complex, a tourist destination, and it has Sunway Lagoon and hotels at the other side. Such a happening place, we should be able to reach there by train; be it LRT, KTM, Monorail, you name it.
I mean, it is so far from KL city and other places, having a train like LRT or monorail will be better and faster than bus. Waiting for bus is so terrible horrible vegetable. The bus can come in a few minutes time or even after 1 hour waiting. kns.

Say until chui ta also the LRT won’t stop in front of Sunway Pyramid. The nearest LRT station is Kelana Jaya (the last station) and KTM Subang. From Kelana Jaya, we gotta take the RapidKL T623 to Sunway Pyramid. It is just RM1 for one day use.
Last year, there was news that the government planned to expand the line. But I think the budgeting and planning didn’t go well, therefore it was canceled.

I’m still waiting for the day when Malaysia government will expand LRT line to Sunway and Puchong.
