Yay to Pink!
I am surfing online for whatever info that I can read and whatever picture that I can see, while organizing my computer files and updating the back-up in my HDD to prepare for our upcoming trip to KL and Medan. I am blog hopping from truck accessories page to bedroom stuffs and then I come across this oh-so-sweet-cute-girlie-pink-quilted-bedding in polkadot from potterybarnkids! Peek it here.
I want I want I want! Mom, buy for me can? I’m so wanna go back to be a kid (girl) again.
Bye LG Ice Cream, Hello Nokia 5530
As I mentioned on my previous post, I lost my lovely pink LG Ice Cream phone a day after my wedding banquet in Medan. Yes, what a great timing!
I remember I was busy going here and there on the morning, from going to Airasia office to change Anilox cleaner to returning the gown to NewYorkArt bridal and fetching parent-in-law for breakfast before heading to Brastagi highland for a day trip.
I had my pink LG ice cream inside my bag all the time. Then out of a sudden I couldn’t find it already. Not in the bag, not in the car, and not at home. To make thing worse, I couldn’t recall when was the last time I saw my phone.
I started to panic when I couldn’t find it at home. I tried to call my own number but it was no longer active. That’s when I knew that it was hopeless and I wouldn’t see my pink LG ice cream anymore.
The supposed-to-be-a-joyful-day turn into a gloomy day. I had a hard time to really arrive at the acceptance stage that the phone is no longer mine. I managed to survive from being phone-less for a few days until I flew to Malaysia last Friday and lived with my back-up phone.

Picture taken with Nokia E71. On the background is my boy’s white Macbook (2006) which is also my temporary working buddy for now.
I was in a big dilemma, deciding which phone to go for. I mean, I didn’t get that love-at-the-first-sight with other phone like what I had with my pink LG ice cream. I even thought of getting LG ice cream again, but my boy said let gone be by gone. To my surprise, the price has dropped from RM800 (8 months ago) to RM550! *faint down*
After several online research and offline phone hunting, I decided to get Nokia 5530 XpressMusic – a touch screen phone. The price is slightly cheaper than LG ice cream, RM760 only (AP set), and it has a lot more functions than LG ice cream – wifi, gps, you name it. It is sleek and the size is OK for me. I would choose the white color one if not because of the ugly blue line that separates the front and the back of the phone.
Gotta find a way to zhng my Nokia so that it will be more me.
Testing new webcam
Wuih finally I have the time to test this webcam . October is a crazy busy messy month with long to-do-list just like pa job listings board.
I bought the webcam during the one week trip to KL on August, at LowYat Plaza the IT paradise in Bukit Bintang. So many choices to go for, from branded webcam like Microsoft to made-in-China brand. Live demo was available and staffs were pretty helpful.
Unlike the IT shop in Medan, especially in shopping complex, always hire young women who knows nothing about computer stuffs and only know how to keep an eye on the shop. I’m not asking the shop owner to hire a geeky worker, but someone who has some knowledge about IT and computer will do.
Anyway, the webcam was bought at RM39.90, slightly cheaper than the lousy Genius Eye 110 which I bought last year at IDR.165.000 (around RM60). It has LED lights that can be adjusted and built-in microphone but I haven’t figure out how to make it works.
See above picture, the quality of this webcam is so much better than the lousy Genius Eye 110. LED light was turn on and no photoshop effect is used in the picture.
The webcam also have special effect such as windy, ripple, blablabla and frames. It’s me and my brother in the picture.
There is this one effect called monitor, with 9 frames. Each frame will be updated in few seconds. I have to change pose real fast so that I can have 9 different poses. I also need to be fast enough to click the capture button after the 9th frame and before it goes back to the 1st frame. Pfiuh.
Bottom line, this has to be one of the best buying I ever made this year.

It’s the time of the year again where I am going to be one year older, in less than 24 hours time. I can’t believe that I am going to hit mid twenty soon – Arghhh!!! Not this year, but soon.
Anyway, put aside the numbers, it is never too late to write down a wishlist.
Breadou Donut – a computer mouse wrist rest and squeezable stress reliever. Oh yes, after the cutie emoticon bread, Breadou did it again with donut’s shape this time. It is sold at $9.50 in the website. I am so gonna hunt for this ‘donut‘ on the next visit to KL.
Beanbag. I’ve seen this once (I think Rach brought it on Christmas celebration at 95% few years ago) and feel in love with the effectiveness and how comfy it was. It can be turn into whatever shape, can be used as outdoor pillows or as a sofa. I especially like the beanbag in red color.
Polaroid camera. Loves the effect and that one can actually hold the photos instead of saving it in the computer. It adds more meaning to the photos (for me).

Woohoo! I am in a super-duper-happy mood as I finally get my pink LG ice cream phone (RM799) last night. Not only that, the weather isn’t as hot as yesterday but cloudy and windy. Ah, nice!

My old Nokia 1208 and the new pink LG ice cream
I always being skeptical when it comes to gadget and brand. I mean, I believe that one particular brand is strong in one area hence I won’t go for other brands, like how I always stand at Canon side when it comes to digicam. I don’t even want to look at Sony, Nikon, Olympus, etc. Just how strong Canon branding is (for me). But for other things like office furniture, brand doesn’t really matter to me. I won’t insist to go Ikea to buy a white working table. Any furniture shop will do cause it’s just a working table. I’m weird.
When it comes to mobile phone, I also kinda believe that Nokia is the best to go for. But this time I give it an exemption and allow myself to go for the non-popular brand in Indonesia which is LG. But this LG ice cream isn’t sold in Indonesia yet (at least it wasn’t sold in Medan when I asked 3 weeks ago), luckily it is released in KL already. I don’t care if people say it is lagging, battery can’t last long yadayada. The pastel pink color is enough to blind my eyes and catch my heart. Hehe..
I actually planned to do a complete review of this pink ice cream phone. But laziness took over it.

The keypad’s light is in sweet pink.

The LED light or whatever it is called. Besides time, it can show smiley face or phone number when there is a call.
For now, this is the best-est phone that I ever get, from the price to color to features, everything. Thanks to boyfriend for driving me around and accompany me to hunt for the pink LG ice cream. He fulfills whatever I want. My very own genie in the bottle indeed.
P.S. Wootz… I am listed in 25 Hot Female Web Designers Part 2, by Lee Munroe! *big smile along with big wet eyes*
Tags: LG ice creamWhat we get from Digital Mall
Due to some circumstances, Malacca trip is postponed to this weekend. We headed to Digital Mall instead to satisfy our geeky side on last Saturday.
Finally we found this 20″ Acer LCD at RM399. Pretty good deal. There goes the neck-pain and eyes problem that I had with the 14.1″ laptop. Also bought a small size keyboard to replace the old one at RM30+. Save space on the table but haven’t really get use to it.
Next, boyfriend found the love of his life – Nokia E71 at RM1350. The GPS feature is the one that caught his attention along with the sleek shape and others. He’s been talking about it for a while but I thought it was ugly and looked like a calculator. Bleh.
In the end, I surrender to it and it actually doesn’t look that ugly. Quite elegant in fact and seems worthy as GPS alone is sold at RM800 and above. The cheapest that I saw was $89.99 (read: around RM330), refurbished GPS in sale section at Buy.com site. But I can’t find if they have international shipping.
We thought of buying my dream phone, LG ice cream pink color, at the same time. But the whole mobile phone’s shops in Digital Mall ran out of stock already. Left the white and light blue one.
Since I insisted to have the pink LG ice cream, we headed off to a shopping complex near our place. Guess what, they also ran out of stock, left only white and light blue. wtf. Seems that pink LG ice cream is very much in demand eh? In the end, we ordered one at RM799 and should get it by tonight. Yeehaa!!
Now off to cook dinner first!
LG KF350 ice cream or Nokia 6600 fold
Buying a new mobile phone is one of the items in my wishlist this year. I don’t aim for something biggie and super hi-tech like iPhone or Blackberry but a cute pink flip phone.
I am super sick of using this fugly cheapo Nokia 1208, go ask Mr.Google if you want to see how ugly it is. So, I thought it is time for me to have a new one after few years of using ugly cheapo phone. Time to pamper myself. Hehe.. After all, I seldom buy any gift for myself aside from the Canon Ixus 870.
After many thoughts and comparing the features and price in gsmarena.com, I find myself in between LG ‘ice cream’ KF350 and Nokia 6600 fold.
- Both is flip phone and in pink! except that LG has a softer pink and Nokia is more towards purple.
- Price wise, LG KF350 is slightly cheaper than Nokia 6600 fold.
- The above point also means it doesn’t have so much feature (no 3G, display is TFT 256K colors only, no video) like Nokia 6600 fold.
- Size wise, LG ice cream is slightly bigger but thinner and lighter (102 g), with dimensions 100.9 x 50.9 x 14.8 mm. While Nokia 6600 fold weighs 110g with dimensions 87.7 x 44 x 15.9 mm.
- Surprisingly LG ice cream’s camera is 3.15 MP with 2048×1536 pixels, while Nokia 6600 fold is 2 MP only with 1600×1200 pixels but it has LED flash. This point is not so important cause I won’t use it as my primary camera.
I am very much standing on LG ice cream’s side now.
No doubt, it is the soft pink color that makes me ‘fall in love’ with it on the first sight. Besides, I think I have been brainwashed after reading so many review/advertorial of LG ice cream on Nuffnang-ers blogs. Damn, I am an advertising victim!
