Feature Portfolio
Feel free to browse through my portfolio, which contains selection of works that I did under simplyWP (for web design) and during the early freelancing period (for print graphic design). Girly chic is my design style, though I'm flexible most of the time.

June is all about opening our mind and making decision to change. Sort of turning point.
In terms of personal life, my boy and I have been discussing and weighing a lot of life aspects. Decided to make the change as well, which will take place in about 3 months from now. We are super exciting! If you are thinking about baby, scratch that idea please. Hehe.. It’s something bigger than purchasing TV mounts.
In term of business, we are in the midst of re-design and re-align both simplyWP and Zhng Design Studio; from the strategy aspect and also the interface. Time to really apply what we’ve learnt during the advertising course!
Oh btw, I just had my first online interview. You can read my insightful and inspirational stories *cough cough* on my client’s site, Between Us Girls.
In the process, I became one of simplyWP.net’s most particular customers as well as great colleagues with my designer, though separated by thousands of miles. Yes the internet has spawned personal and work relationships, but I would have never thought I would be working with someone in Malaysia, yes Malaysia.
Sachkia is residing in UK Virgin Islands and I’m in Malaysia, yet we get to work together thanks to internet and email. This (read: work with people around the world) is also one of the thing that I like from my job. It offers so many possibilities for me.

Happy Wednesday!
WordCamp is a conference that focuses on everything WordPress; for casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other. WordCamp Malaysia 2010 is the first WordCamp to be held in Malaysia! It’s happening on the 22nd of May 2010, Cititel Mid Valley. Read More here.
The parcel was sent on yesterday and we received it this afternoon. Fast! Thank you PosLaju and WCMY’s organizer, Simon to be specific. This goodies somewhat cure our heartache for not able to attend the first WordCamp in Malaysia.

There is Kaspersky Anti Virus licenses, T-shirt, and WordPress Schwag (WordPress pencil, stickers, pink pins!, and temporary tattoos all the way from San Fransisco). How sweet! Maybe next time we can have WordPress table lighting, mousepad, etc?
Both T-shirt is M size, definitely too big for me, but never mind. I still love the design, referring to the M word in Petronas twin tower shape. And the quote “Code is poetry” is very true for my boy – the geeky hubby.

We’re so looking forward to attend the next WordCamp Malaysia (or Asia) and maybe would like to involve in sponsorship again.
Hopefully it won’t crash again with whatever plan that we will have later.
P.S. Happy birthday WordPress! Seven years and you’re going stronger.
Last 2 years I heard about WordCamp in Philippine, where the founder of WordPress (Matt Mullenweg) flew all the way to Manila. Followed by that event, Indonesia had its first WordCamp in Jakarta. But I heard nothing from Malaysia. I was like,”Hey, Ain’t Malaysia always one step forward from Indonesia?”

Well, thanks to the people who want to make thing happens, Malaysia will have its first WordCamp on May 22nd at Mid Valley. from 8am to 5pm.
Registration is open at WordCamp MY site, only RM150 per person. Super worthy consider you will get to broaden your knowledge, get to networking with several other like-minded people (WordPress enthusiasts, webdeveloper, etc), get free stuffs (better than hip hop clothes; there is Kaspersky Anti Virus licenses etc), meal is included too.
My boy and I did show our support too by being the Gold sponsor. But unfortunately we won’t be attending the event as we just came back from our honeymoon trip. We will be eyeing for the next WordCamp though, be it in Singapore, Indonesia or Malaysia.
Btw, we managed to meet up for lunch with one of WordCamp MY’s organizers, Simon Lim from WP Design Studio, during our short visit to KL (after Bali) on last Wednesday. The young man is a WordPress enthusiast, passionate in what he is doing, and has a very clear vision. Glad to meet such an inspirational person!
Oh yeah, I’m bidding farewell to the 14-months-old layout and welcome the new layout design. So, what’s the new thing?

+ More white space and soft pink instead of the dark-violet-pink color scheme
+ Out with the character illustration (I no longer have a bob hair, remember?) and in with the floral illustration
+ Decided to add portfolio section to showcase the selected works that I’ve done; be it print or web
+ Add Twitter feed section on my sidebar, so you can follow my short update when I don’t blog
+ Updated my about page, though still looking for a nice profile picture to be used there
Basically the new design is all about minimalist, clean, soft, and girly. On the feature side, I am trying to show more about my expertise as a graphic + web designer. So, expect to see WordPress and design related posts in the future; after I come back from my vacation of course; aside from roadside assistance or rambling post.
Much thanks to my boy for coding this theme. If you find any bugs, please let me know.
I’ve been using this pinkie-violet theme for 14 months with last re-design on February 2009. It’s time for refreshment~! From design (my hair no longer fits the bob girl illustration on header) to about page (the info there is so outdated now).

This isn’t another simply-redesign-cause-I-am-bore-with-the-old-theme. I am pushing it to be more than just a personal blog. Yes, after using this space to rant for 4 years, I finally decide that it’s time to grow up and to integrate my expertise here. Talk about branding and changing the content’s direction; not into extenze topic but design.
Bottom line, it’s been a work-in-progress for us since last week. Brainstorming, mind-mapping, analyze and plan all over carefully, etc. It’s been a while since we really take a deep look into what we have now. We often go with the routine and forget to see the bigger picture.
Well well, the roller-coaster ride has began!
Time to grow and push the business further before we start on something new.
