Things That Make You Feel Old

Found this from a tweet. :D

list-things-that-make-you-old

I grew up watching Home Alone which was played on TV every Christmas holiday. I always portray Macaulay Culkin as the cute boy with red lip. And what? He is 30 now? Where does the time go?

That reminds me that I’m hitting mid twenty in few weeks time. Oh yea, the big TWO FIVE! Quarter life crisis is kicking in.

Sometimes I still feel like I’m a college student, that I’ll go back hometown when semester break comes and I’ll get to hangout with the girls, my family, indulge with Medan’s foods, etc. But sadly no.

It’s been more than 4 years since college graduation, 8 years since high school, 9 years since my Sweet 16 Invitations birthday party. Wow! When I was still in primary, I couldn’t wait to grow up and went to senior high school, so I could wear the grey skirt.

It came and on the 1st week of the new semester, me & a few good friends went to a shopping mall nearby my neighborhood, after class of course. Proudly wore our white grey uniform, like wanting to let the whole world knew that we were officially a senior high school’s students. :P #NorakAbis

High school was fun, as life wasn’t that serious. Now I wish to have a photoshoot with the girls taking place at school, wearing high school uniform, just for the sake of keeping memory. Cause compact digicam and mobile phone with camera weren’t that IN back then. We still used camera with film and the bulky Nokia3310. :P

Oh well, I am old a grown up now. Deal with it, Kat!

Quality Matters. Not Quantity.

I’ve just heard the divorce news from one of my high school friend. Am still shock. No idea what is the problem behind that brave decision. No way to help. I can only wish her the best in starting a brand new life.

Lately I’ve also heard some break-up story from friends, whom were in a 4 to 5 years of relationship. Some of the reasons: because of long distance relationship (glad that my boy and I managed to pass this chapte), because one meets a better person (in terms of financial / look / beauty / caring, etc – like suddenly your lover no longer attractive and need best diet supplement ), because there is no suitable or same vision and mission anymore (hey, every couple used to have the same vision mission in the beginning, how can it disappear in the end?) and others.

It just brings up the realization that quality is the important player when it comes to relationship, instead of quantity. I mean, the long dating period (more than 4 years) doesn’t guarantee that the relationship will continue to marriage and the love will stay forever and live happily ever after like Cinderella story. If there is no quality of communication, interaction, whatever action, during that more-than-4-years period, then one shall be prepared to welcome dooms day. It goes the same if after marriage you see your spouse everyday but there is no quality during the time spent together, sooner or later it is dooms day.

Someone said,”You guys are married already, what to scare of (break up)?” Um.. what about divorce after marriage? After all, marriage isn’t the last stage of our love life. We still need to continue learn and understand about each other, give the attention just like during the early stage of dating period, etc. Else, people changes constantly and the feeling might change too, if one can’t follow up with it.

Okay, enough said. I am no expert in dating or love life. Shall take good care of my own life and relationship instead. :P

Oh, decided to add that meeting the right person at the right time does matter too. It’s hard to define Mr. and Ms. Right, guess it’s all goes back to gut feel? Whatever, I’ve found mine, that’s all I need to know for now.

Friday night at Dante Coffee

I should have posted this yesterday, but the cheap fare from Airasia has pushed this post away.

Anyway, we (my friends and I) had a light dinner at Dante Coffee, Cambridge Mall on Friday night. The place is not bad with excellent customer service and polite waiters.

Yea, too polite that one of the waiters referred to us, the ladies, as Pak (read: Sir) when he wanted to clean up the table. lol. One thing that I can assume is, most of their customers are men, especially yuppies.

Besides that, Dante is comfortable enough to surf online with your beloved laptop. See the comfy red couch? How great it is IF the whole area of Cambridge Mall is facilitated with free WiFi and there is a small area/lounge with comfy couch for you to online (just like 1Utama@Malaysia), free without having to buy any drink from any coffee shop. :P Aiks.. How can I be so cheap skate.

Anyway, I was editing the above picture, zooming in and just realized that Yenny is inside too! See that tiny little girl behind the hot-lady-in-orange-shirt. I forget whether this picture was taken after she spotted and greeted me or before that. Hehe.. But, I can’t believe that she still have time to go to gym after work and all the busy schedule. Thumbs up!

More boring picture of us after this. Hehe.. (more…)
