Bali Trip: Day 5 – GWK / Dreamland / Uluwatu / Babi Guling / Jimbaran

Hello Saturday! Let’s continue my Bali Honeymoon Trip post before my memory fails me big time and I lost the interest to write.

Sunday, May 9 We explore Southern part of Bali for the day. After half day of touring, we basically run out of place to visit already. Hehe. We opted out Tanjung Benoa watersport cause we don’t want to get wet; so NO jetski, parasailing, banana boat, flying fish, water ski, etc. Not interested with turtle island. Had enough of snorkeling during Perhentian trip last year – water isn’t our best friend especially me.

This also the day when my sore-throat starts to get serious and my voice becomes very sexy. But don’t care, culinary hunting must go on. :P I just continue to feed my throat with Ricola. Cause Guardian sells sore throat medicine at ridiculous price (read: super duper expensive like RM60), even one a day prenatal vitamins is cheaper than sore throat one.

GWK Cultural Park (NOT GOOD) // Dreamland beach // Pura Uluwatu // Babi Guling for lunch // Discovery Mall // Kuta Beach // Dinner at Jimbaran Bay

#1 GWK Cultural Park – IDR50,000 for foreigner // IDR25,000 for domestic // IDR5,000 for car parking

Bali Trip: Day 2 – Free and Easy at Kuta

Thursday May 6, We choose to take it easy and explore Kuta area ourselves on the 2nd day. After breakfast at the hotel, we go for a stroll at Legian street. During the walk, we buy hats at one of the local souvenir shop. Can’t stand to walk under the hot sun without any protection; be it umbrella, sunglass, or hat. Thanks to this, acne starts growing on my face the next day, forget to bring pronexin the acne treatment. Ugh.

Left: We are looking for mobile-phone kiosk to refill my Simpati’s credit but it isn’t open yet. So, my boy thinks of taking picture of this alley and this handsome Balinese kid immediately poses for us. :P
Right: A small alley where Blue Bird taxis keeps passing by non stop.

Bali Trip: From Sibu to KL to Day 1 in Bali

Sibu to Kuala Lumpur

Tuesday May 4, we take afternoon flight from Sibu to Kuala Lumpur. Supposed to depart one or three hours earlier but Airasia informed about the delayed one month in advance.

Staying at Tune hotels nearby LCCT for a night. There is shuttle bus from LCCT to Tune hotels and vice versa, only RM1 per person per way. So convenient. But the place is kinda boring, only got cafeteria downstairs. Luckily a friend of my boy drops by for limteh-ing session and chat from hcg diet recipes to politic scene. :P

The room is small, but like what their advertisement said, 5-star sleeping experience at a 1-star price; Comfie bed, power shower and clean. Got air-con but need to pay, well ceiling fan is enough for such a small room. What I love best is the huge mirror in the room and bathroom. (more…)

Bali Trip: Preparation stage

Ah finally.. Here’s the first post of my Bali trip’s series before my memory fails me. :P This post is all about planning and preparation. I mean, flight, accommodation, and transportation which are the essential and basic stuffs. All was found and booked via internet. I love how internet eases my life; need allergy relief or recipes then just google.

Flight Ticket

Ticket was booked since last year, August 2009 to be exact, for 5 – 10 May 2010. Can’t thank enough for the BIG SALE from Airasia. Return tickets Sibu – Kuala Lumpur for 2 persons = RM116. While return tickets Kuala Lumpur – Bali for 2 persons = RM241 included three 15kg check-in luggages (made a mistake during booking time, supposingly two luggages only). Total RM357, sweet!

But 3 out of 4 flights were re-scheduled to later time (read: delay). Should have listen to Mum, never book night’s flight. -__-”

Note: Recent experience tells that Airasia fare can be super cheap during promo, but the fare can be almost the same with MAS during regular time. Do compare both!
